No thread berating Moore?

It undoubtedly goes down as a mistake for me. And typically exactly the kind of goal Blackman wouldn't have let in. But it didn't cost us, and I've got no real worries about Moore.

Well I have more concerns about Moore than Blackman. Just think he lets in some shots that Long was berated for. Personally I think we need an upgrade on kreper, although masked currently by the team. Said all last season that Moore is not a no. 1.

Would need to see the replay back.

But in real time it looked like a piss poor flap at a very saveable shot from distance.IMHO.

UTB

Let's remember Moore hasn't played for a while.
errrrr does that mean he hasn't stopped a shot in training.?
Making errors just cod you've not played for a while is frankly a ridiculous excuse.

Sorry but from the Westfield the shot moved in the air but I would have been very disappointed had Jam not saved it.
The gulf in class between Moore (who I like enormously as a person) is pretty stark.
JB has a wing span like a Boeing 747,
JB could one day make England GK, He is a colossus, a huge intimidating figure. His penalty saving record is testimony to this , remember the wolves pen?.
His one on one save against Brentford saved us 2 points
Chelsea see a huge future for him, which is why they pay him £20 k a week?

I think it deflected slightly off CCV and that confused him. Having said that, I'm half-cut so that may be nonsense.

I was sat bang in line with Moore as the ball sailed over him. It was a definite mistake, he was too far off his line and even so he should have got finger tips to it as it wasn’t exactly a rocket hence how it dipped over him. That being said ... we won 4-1 , Moore probably needs a few more games to get up to speed so lots of other things to focus on.

Let's remember Moore hasn't played for a while.

Played approx 90 minutes on Tuesday. Possibly played Burnley in that behind closed doors friendly too.

Anyway, interesting timing for Moore, not sure he's done enough assuming Jamal will be back after the international break.

Easy that one Danny. We lost the match 1 nil due to a Blackman error (even though I think it was very unfortunate rather than the howler some make out).

Today we won 4 - 1 following what some might say is a Moore error. (I'd have to see it again at numerous angles to make my mind up but from the John Street stand I did think he may have done better).

Human psychology really. If the end result is right it doesn't matter how you get there. If its wrong everything comes under scrutiny. Not fair but life isn't.
it started before the qpr game
however, i believe we have two great keepers and criticism of both is because people have nowt to moan about atm

To be honest, that's a load of crap. Life isn't fair, but what that has to do with goalkeeping is another matter. Blackman gets unfair criticism and is certainly the equal, if not better than Moore (and I like them both). But give me Blackman's ability to actually come from a cross and not wave goodbye to soft 25 yard shot any day.

Was almost directly behind the shot, there was a fair amount of movement on the ball as it took a deflection. Moore gets the benefit of the doubt from me as does Blackman

Jesus wept. We won 4-1 with an excellent second half display.

Get a grip and try to enjoy the good things that happen in life.

It's an error, but he's hardly played thia season. He's not the greatest with long shots but they normally go under him!

He made a mistake today, God forbid players, especially goalkeepers making a mistake! As soon as Jamal made a mistake, how dare he! People were saying he's shit etc, and a thread was started quicker than Duffys bounce killer goal. yet no mention of Moores mistake. But don't forget guys, he talks to the defence which must mean hes a better keeper.
No need for this post at all.Jamal is injured Moore is in.....end of.

Time for the goalkeepers' union members to begin to comment, as in the Jamal thread. The 2 bad moments for Moore yesterday were exactly the problems for modern goalkeepers highlighted in that thread. I was right behind the goal for the one he let in, and while I don't think there was a deflection, the ball dipped and swerved at the last second, and his mistake was in going for a one-handed save. I think if he had gone with both hands, he would have saved it. Not a howler, but it could have been saved. The second moment came from the can't pick the ball up from a pass-back rule, and it did look like his hesitation caused the problem. So, not a great afternoon for him, but all keepers have these moments in the modern game, and it turned out well in the end; it's to be hoped it doesn't affect his confidence. We have 2 good keepers at the moment, plus a promising lad. No cause for panic.

Moore hasn't had much stick for the goal because we won. I can't see how you don't get it? That's where the 'that's life' comment comes in.

Do you think he would have got more criticism had we lost 1 nil? I do, and if you agree then you do get it. To say you don't understand what the final result has on the fans perception of any mistakes or performances then I think you are being disingenuous.

You only have to look at player ratings when we lose, on average for the entire team the scores are down one or 2. When we win the ratings are up across the team regardless of individual performances. That's the influence a scoreline has on the fans perception of a players performance.

Goalkeepers come under a massive amount of scrutiny as any errors are goals. The 'errors' of Blackman or Moore were made all over the pitch in different fashions. Misplaced passes, failure to control a ball scuffed shots etc. But these usually don't directly cost goals so they slip under the radar. Life isn't fair is it........ :)

He's white and Jamal is black, ergo he's not getting criticised because he's white.

I was right in line too and that ball flew like a rocket in a gale.

It was moving all over the place at the speed of sound, my only criticism of Moore was that he seemed to go for it with one hand and if he had gone with two he would have doubled his chances of getting something on the ball.

We hadn't won a league game so far from a losing position. Moore knew that we needed to put that to bed so thought 'fuck it, I'm letting one go in so the lads can overcome this little hurdle and gain even more confidence going into the international break

Team player, top man!

Should have read yours before I posted mine ;)

Name me a keeper that has never been accused of, "he should have saved that". Name me a striker who has never been accused of "he should have scored that". Leon had a blinder yesterday but missed 2 sitters as did Billy. Good job we have strength in depth.

He didnt talk to jake wright second half when wright was telling him to get the ball in the end jake had to clear

No problem. Suggests we might both be right! And that I should make my posts shorter. Just had a look at the highlights, and you can see from his body shape that Grosiski was putting swerve on the ball, whereas JOC in the first half for his shot hit straight through the ball, and the goalie was ok to use one hand because the ball was going straight as an arrow. At least Moore can claim the assist for Leon's 4th goal.

So the OP is angry that no-one has started a thread criticising Moore because he was angry someone started one about Blackman :rolleyes:

'You can't win' comes to mind.

Remember Howard let in a carbon copy of yesterdays goal away at Oldham. Poleon struck it.

Whilst we are talking about Hulls goal yesterday can anyone shed any light on the scorers need for a hair band when he has a hairline like Willy Thornes?
