For what it's worth I happen to agree with you. Freeman, Baldock, Bash, Jags ..... yep RWB is not an immediate priority for me.

We are operating in a completely different stratosphere now though mate. Maybe Farke has done a master stroke, or perhaps Wilder isn't interest in signing a 4th or 5th choice RWB.

Its probably a position we're best covered for, but that also relies on Baldock and Freeman being able to do what they've done so well at Championship, in the Premier League.

If they can't, we'll be in the market in January.

(i think we'll be fine with what we have at RWB though)

He's gone there just to be backup for Max Aarons.

It's no proof of him still being an adequate RWB at PL level.

In that position we'd probably prefer someone more athletic who can also play RCB.

We do need to look at this area. This season we can't just 'go with what we've got and reassess in January'. We need to be picking up most of our points in the first half of the season, capitalising on our momentum and the fixtures.

To do good business everywhere else then have a gaping weakness down the right side would be very frustrating, and avoidable.

I don't trust Baldock to stay fit. That's my worry.

If we upgrade at RCB, I think we can manage without a new RWB.
We can't manage without an upgrade in either of these positions.
I can also see Bash being deployed more as a defensive midfielder this year.
Ideally, we would sign someone capable of covering both RCB and RWB.
I do not believe that Jags has the engine to play the RCB role and will only be deployed in the CB anchor position in our preferred system. If this turns out to be the case, we really need a Prem quality version of Cranie at the very least.
Whatever quality Basham lacks, the kid has some engine and can run for days

Reece James is the answer for RCB and RWB. The fact he can also play CM is key too because wilder likes the versatility so he can switch formations in games to create overloads in different areas. If we got him on loan, it’d be ideal as in 12 months time they’ll be able to buy players again and will no doubt make up for lost time and sign a new first 11 making Reece James surplus to requirements there.

On the Kieron Freeman note - he has put in some serious effort in pre season and the club are delighted with him. Body fat % nearly always the top of the scales since he’s been here, much lower this time around.

They were considering getting rid of him in both January and at the end of the season but I believe those plans are firmly on ice.

RWB is one of the only positions I think were sound in
