Yes but were always interested - so if we had of bid, nothing would have stopped them matching it, Peterborough accepting both bids and Derby outbidding us on wages.

I'd take Paul Kitson right now to be honest and he's 47!

I notice Preston have signed Lukas Nmecka from Man City on loan. Wonder if that is the type we should have signed or maybe he chose them over us, we'll never know.
 
I do wonder how many of the 'Just fucking sign someone' brigade would've reacted if we'd signed high-scoring League 2 player Marc McNulty.

I'm starting to wonder if they're in cahoots with the 'Never fucking happy' brigade.

Some chap asks Nixon if we're signing a striker today, to which Nixon suggests that it'll be the loan window we're looking at.

Whichever way you look at it, he simply cannot know that for certain so it doesn't mean all that much. We saw the deadline day video of Wilder last year and he works on things all the way up to the end of the day.

Anyone who knows how wilder operates will know that he will be working hard in the loan window it really wouldn't surprise me if the Hogan or Gallagher loan rumours come up again during that time

Sorry for only partly quoting you, but whether the jury is out or not the real problem is that it is our board have gone dizzy as a result of being at far too high a level for them, so are working very hard to bring us back down a league or two. What is the point in having supporters having aspirations for the club they love when successive boards actively undermine what relative success we have & see their immediate priority as pulling us back down again?

Yep very similar....lots of chat about who we will sign, get towards the end of the transfer window and all the chat turns to the loan window...disappointment again and the chat turns to January !!

Wilder was pretty adamant we weren’t going to. Don’t know why anyone is shocked that we haven’t signed anyone??

Piss poor transfer window imo. We’ve only improved centreback... that’s it.

Gaping holes left all over the place especially with Holmes and Evans out. We are basically relying on Duffy not to get injured and suddenly to be able to play 90 mins and coutts to come back the same player.

I’d be embarrassed if I was behind the scenes on our business to be perfectly honest. We’ve clearly got a minimum of £5m unspent and are now no better but lighter in midfield and no better upfront.

Long hard season unless we make some positive loan signings
 
If we don't sign anyone in the next 30 minutes, Wilder better kisses a lot of @ss at Chelsea to get us Tammy Abraham.
 
Love to know the discussions Wilder had that convinced him of signing a new deal.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes we could be working out loan deals as we speak
 
I’d be surprised if there’s a better player than Windass in Britain/Ireland going for 2mil!
Would of seemed like a target we should of been looking at... very disappointing!
