Robins is the odd one. Coventry have been pretty shit all year and lie 9th. He may well have had some issues to deal with but who hasn't.

The lad at Luton would make more sense and Hecky.

As someone else says the short list should maybe have 5 names on it and give themselves a bit of wriggle room.

Personally, I couldn't eally give a fuck about these awards though, so nothing to get in a tiss about
Luton manager has not been there all season, it's ridiculous that Hecky is not on the shortlist

I think the manager list is fair.

Kompany, no explanation needed. Carrick has taken Boro from the relegation zone to the playoffs - though you could argue he has just taken them to where they would have expected to have been at the start of the season. Coventry couldn't play home games for about a month because a rugby tournament ruined the pitch, so throw in the ownership/financial issues and Robins has done well to get them anywhere near the playoffs.

But Iliman should obviously be one of the nominated players. Instead of either Gyokeres or Brownhill. I've not seen a player in this division who is even close to the same level as Ndiaye.
I agree these player way behind Ndiaye in style and performance but doesn’t get a mention cause he plays for the blades

I know that if there had been a vote on here up to a couple of weeks ago
Borolona would have cleaned up
Let's be honest we've hardly been the most inspiring promotion ever , we have been up since Xmas along with burnley the only people who don't think so are the fannies on here who can't see anything positive about their own team and use suppprting it as some kind of self flagelation

I don't think I'd have Heckingbottom on there even with my red and white tinted specs on, so I wouldn't expect neutrals to shortlist him. The Luton manager must be spitting feathers though, he's got his side above two of the others and on a much smaller budget than at least one of em.

What the hell is the EFL Diversity Award?

Can’t be seen to nominate clubs under umbongo…….. oh, wait a minute

Cant be seen to nominate a club about to appear at Wembley

Cant ge seen to nominate a player with at least 3 nominations for goal of the season

Cant be seen to nominate a club who’s owner took the previous Co owners pants down and shanked his wobbly bare arse in public and in front of his mates in the FA

Carricks Middlesborough will sweep the board
True, the absolute best outcome for the Championship is for Boro to miss out on the autos and get spanked out of sight by Luton at Wembley. Sky Sports would be in meltdown.

To the earlier point, the timing is a bit daft.

Mathematically, a couple of bad results and Boro could be out of the play offs.

Coventry could still finish bottom half.

As my earlier comment, by all means have one wildcard, but it’s obvious who the two best teams are - we have been in the top two all season. That level of consistency should be recognised. Any expect would know our form dropped off when we had 13 players out yet still sustained a challenge.

As Rob Staton says, they’ve overthought it and as Adana says, as good as Carrick has been its manager of the entire season not three months. Harder to sustain excellence for so long as Boro are now finding out. They’ve sold Hecky short there.

As to the players, overall play seems to have been dismissed over simple stats. There are things Ndiaye does they the other three on that list can only dream of. If you had free pick on the play ground who would come first? Akporn, Gyokeres, Brownhill or Ndiaye? Up until the past month when his form has suffered it’s debatable whether any midfielder has been better than Norwood. I’d imagine he’s been in more team of the weeks than anyone.

But to see Coventry have a player and manager in there and be currently 9th and United have neither one nor the other is bizarre. If you want to make a point about Coventry then pick Robins or pick the striker but to pick both and give no credit to the team who has been top two all season just wreaks.

Done the dirty on us there. Then again when Wilder won it I’d imagine Daniel Farke felt a bit miffed too.

All about opinions. Let’s just use it as motivation to ram it down their throats.

The one thing that sums it up for me. If you offered me £20m plus any other player in the championship in exchange for N’Diaye, I wouldn’t accept.

To not even nominate him is laughable

Fans know it, and the EFL show themselves up by ignoring it...embarrassing for them.

I normally would not get too sensitive about this one. But, it genuinely does seem a bit obscure, even taking out the Sheff Utd POV. Wouldn't Rob Edwards match Carrick for example, or Gary Rowett match Mark Robins. I mean I think Robins has done a great job and over his whole tenure an outstanding achievement, but is it any different to last season? Carrick has made a fantastic turnaround at Middlesbrough, but there is no evidence yet he has built something sustainable and it's similar to what Hecky and Cooper did last season and now it's tailing off. Hecky has got us to 2nd and a Semi Final, with only one permanent transfer. We do have a strong squad compared to most, but at the start of the season you would put us in a bracket with Norwich, WBA, Watford etc...and the reason we have stood out more than them, is because we have revived older players like Norwood bought on younger players like Ndiaye, all that happens on the training ground....not in the transfer market.

Don’t get the Mark Robins one at all. I don’t think they’ll even make the playoffs.

If you’re not choosing Hecky then surely you’re looking at Rob Edwards. Both of them come before Robins.

N'Diaye should be heading that list. Period. He's unbelievably talented and he has performed consistently throughout the season. He's had a wc tournament too to factor in. Absolutely makes my piss boil..... Who makes nominations for these things?? Stevie Wonder????

Amad Diallo – Sunderland AFC

Eh?

It’s like actors - they get together and give themselves awards for being so marvellous. Sad bastards.

Havent read the whole thread, but it's possible the embargo has labelled the club "cheats" which may explain things.

Seems a big co incidence to me, hopefully we won't be a problem for the EFL next season..
