Firstly let me apologise if I have posted this on the wrong thread. My name is Karen & I am today closing down my dad's account, so if you were expecting one of his (what he would call) pearls of wisdom I apologise again
My dad wasn't in to social media, but when my son set him up on the forum he loved it. He was proud when people responded to his posts & told us how any people had liked them
Unfortunately he had a stroke before Xmas & we lost him to pneumonia a couple of weeks ago. He was a life long Utd fan & when he came out of work & money was tighter he would travel from Penistone on the bus to watch the kids play at the training ground to get his fix of United
The reason for the post is to say THANK YOU to anyone who commented on his posts or liked them it made him feel involved in his club & gave him something to talk about & be happy about
For him having two daughters wasn't ideal as neither of us were in to football, but we will always be United fans because that's how we were brought up. So from one Utd fan to many more, once again THANK YOU for making my dad happy
Rip to you and your family and I hope your son is a poster on here.

Karen,
What a beautiful message for your Dad, so sorry for your loss.
I am sure you will continue to follow all your Dad loved about the club, we are a very unique bunch of supporters.
Thank you for your post which must have been difficult.
Unfortunately many of us are getting or got old.
Take care of your family.

Almost brought me to tears and I'm reight hard me.

God bless your dad.

A reminder of the power of the internet and thanks should go the site admin who run this for their own reasons but bring together many like minded people who take great pleasure from the opportunity afforded

Karen ..... after reading your post I've got such a lump in my throat I can hardly breathe .......I remember what it was like to lose my dad and I still miss him at the game more than anywhere .... :(

The passing of a Blade is always a sad event, but remember that all Blades are always missed and he will live on in your memories of him ......

RIP to a fellow Blade.

I was just going to write the post & go, but I feel impelled to say one last thank you to all that took time to leave messages, both public & private. The messages had me smiling with tears in my eyes. I can see now why dad referred to members of the Forum as "friends I've never met " he always said that the main difference between Utd and any other Yorkshire team was class. You have showed this to be so,so true
Once again THANK YOU for all your lovely support. If the team reflects the quality of their supporters, they will be the best in the world

Hi Karen,

I am sorry to hear ' Wrong Side ' is no longer with us.

I to am very interested in the academy and younger sides and enjoyed greatly your fathers opinions on the same games i had watched.

I hope the replies and LIKES you have received on this thread goes a small way into bringing a smile to you and your families faces.

He never stops being a Blade you know x
