No mention of Fathi

English League Experience is stretching it a bit, how many minutes did he play in a Blades shirt? 40...........................?

Just checked, one start, 2 sub appearances. Think in the circumstances we can forgive ITV.....!

well he would do he doesnt play for us anymore ,therefore making him worldclass

i also thought he was worth more of a lookin than he got at the time but heard he struggled to settle.

He's got 59 caps for Egypt which incidentally is one more than John Terry - you can't choose how strong a team you're country are (unless you're like Ryan Giggs) but yes I'd agree that this makes him World Class.

i suppose the fact that fathi barely touched the ball in that 4-0 thrashing we got by liverpool doesnt matter ?

to be fair United barely touched the ball in that game and it wouldn't have been quite as big a thrashing if Liverpool hadn't been playing their own referee again.

I also thought Fathi looked one of the better players in that performance - that isn't saying much because we were poor but for a relatively young foreign kid on his debut it wasn't too bad.

Just got back from Wembley. I watched Fathi quite closely - he seemed to be sticking quite close to Walcott in the first half and keeping him pretty quiet, he then man-marked Rooney for most of the second half. After Rooney went off Fathi seemed to play centre mid, with most of their moves going through him. He impressed me a lot tonight.

We were largely awful that day. I remember Fathi looking alright one half and unnoticeable the other.

Thought he played very well in the Everton game at home however, think it was the following match. We played well that day, and did enough to win it, but had that moment of Kenny madness that cost us three points. Fathi was impressive that day - the majority of the good football involved him - and he nearly scored a great goal after we went 1-0 up following a great move. It's a shame that Robson thought that signing a has-been in Hendrie, and starting the season with a Leigertwood in the team, was preferable to giving Fathi a chance.

According to the commentary we had with Setanta (Sky people I think) he played for the Blades three times as they kept calling him "Former-Sheffield United player". At least they'd done their research.

I thought he played very well.

Also thought he was meant to be highly rated when we signed him. Never got the chance though
