Had a chat with Kennedy earlier and he's actually contracted till the end of this season, it must have originally been reported incorrectly, have updated to reflect that.

May be the same case with Matty Harriot, will update the list when I know for sure.

He's been with the squad all pre-season, so I suspect it was announced incorrectly when he signed it, similar to Tel Kennedy

Based on media and supporter speculation that would appear to be fairly accurate.

I cant think of a strong enough reason to keep any of the out of contract players. Other than perhaps McDonald I dont think you can justify the kind of wages most of them are probably on at this level. It represents an opportunity to start balancing the books and for rebuilding.

Looking at that list, the priorities for next season will be a wide player, a midfielder and two strikers. If we can keep the same defence together we have a good platform.

And keeping two players up the pitch when the opposition have a corner - PLEASE

He's the only one of the senior players to have their contract renewed to date. That leaves Coyne, Higginbotham, Francois, Kennedy, Harriot, Cresswell and Chappel out of contract. I suspect Cresswell will retire unless he ventures back to York, and maybe Kennedy will be given another year with the rest being let go.

George Willis, Jordan Hodder, Diego De Girolamo and Jahmal Smith will all be added to the squad list too.

There's nothing in that article about the length of Cresswell's contract. If he'd signed an extension I'd expect that would have been announced at the time - the change in contract terms looks to have been to change his status to player-coach.

Apparently Doyle's contract also expires this Summer and Terry Kennedy's expired last Summer.
I'm not convinced it's that reliable to be honest.

I reckon it was a player/coach contract running until June 2013, with a negotiation taking place this summer to determine whether he stays as player/coach, coach or wants to carry on playing lower down the leagues.
