No Fleck in Scotland squad again

Any opportunity for our top talent to not get injured is fine by me. From a purely selfish point of view, of course.

He's more than good enough to start in that shower of shite squad of theirs. It's almost as if Alex McLeish doesn't really know what he's doing...

Hilarious but good news for us. Less risk of injury, less exposure. So long may it continue I suppose.

But if I was him I'd make myself unavailable for selection - it's got that ridiculous now.

Wonder if he has any English blood in him...

Playing for Scotland these days can barely count as playing international football so he's not missing anything.

He's proud to be British anyway.

There must be something more to it...

So, McLeish was Rangers Manager from 2001-2006 and Fleck played his first game for them in 2007, aged 17... could there be a chance that the two had a fall out when Fleck was younger (in the youth team maybe)? Speculation for sure, but there's got to be a reason a National team so poor persistently overlooks potential one of their best players available?

He got a 6/10 in both the EFL and The Mirror for Saturday. It's almost like the papers don't actually send people to the games to save money......
Came up recently when there was no reporter at a Brentford game for Football.London. Madness

I like how Scott McTominay gets a call up simply because he sits on Man Utd's bench.

A young lad from Lancashire who’s played about 15 minutes of senior football. I know Scottish football is a joke in every sense but Fleck’s omission takes the piss.

Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong (Southampton), Tom Cairney (Fulham), James Forrest (Celtic), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Kevin McDonald (Fulham), John McGinn (Aston Villa), Callum McGregor (Celtic), Scott McTominay (Manchester United), Callum Paterson (Cardiff)

I couldn't argue with a few of those selections tbh. I'm not sure about the Scottish based players, or Patterson at Cardiff, or McTominay though. They are better off for midfield talent than I thought to be fair, but surely Fleck deserves looking at ?

McTominay's always looked decent when I've seen him, I wouldn't have hated to see him on loan here

I was going to say the same, Fleck should certainly be in the mix but there is no obvious shit selection in that midfield so can’t complain too much.

As for McTominay, he’s one for the future and the jocks are hoping he will continue to develop. So you can understand why he will continue to be selected for the next year or so regardless of Man U appearances. Similar to how Southgate is apparently looking to include Foden and Sancho in his next squad.

Great news for SUFC.

When he becomes an established international player, his valuation would increase but he’d expect a pay rise. He’d also be in the shop window and likely be in demand and sold for a big price.

If Mcleish read this forum for the first couple of games of the season he'd have probably thought that Fleck was shite!

I don't agree with those of you who thinks it's good news for United.

Sure, there's less risk of fatigue or injury, but I think there's a bigger risk that Fleck wants to move on to improve his chances of selection, like Jamie Murphy.

Fair point, unless he knows why he's not being selected (argument with the manager)

Tbh is he really better than those who have been picked?
Their all premier league players who are always going to be chose in front of championship players. As well as the Celtic players who are in the limelight every week

I can't see any reason to believe he's fallen out with the manager, especially if his omission has occurred under different managers.

You could be right though, as it seems strange that he's never even had a crack of the whip.

Fleck shouldn't be in the squad because we all deep down know he isn't as good as barry bannon who despite being a football god hasn't made the squad either. Hahaha
