Just heard a Wendyite phoning in to 'Football Heaven', so it must be true...

Apparently this muppet saw NC going into Trent Bridge today so it's obvious a clandestine meeting was arranged by Forest.

Ignoring the obvious galaxy between the pigs and Man. United, it must be the same feeling when seeing those upstarts from across the city about to rule the roost for years to come (as we recently did for 14 years).

They're worried.

I don't really care what the wendy think about us, to me they are just another club we happen to share a city with.

Only thought I do have towards them is, if their above us, I want to catch them. If their behind I want to cement the position. The same way I look at it with every club in the league.

But I is nice to know other clubs are getting worried.

Thing is even if they are above us they don't need catching cus they're crap.

but its always nice to look down on teams, no matter if they're crap or not, I still want to be above them.

In fact the only club I really despise and would like to see go out of business is Liverpool. And I cant offer a reason why, I have just always hated them.

Yeh heard it and someone pointed out the porcine in question started off with "a mate was at Trent bridge" and then it changed to " I'm just telling you what I saw" stupid Cnut at the very least get the story fooking right you thick tw@

I know I'll regret even commenting on any Wendy hearsay.....but, any club that has a philosophical position of 'four legs good, two legs bad' will always be suspect. The pigs take ITK to new levels of absurdity, and before you know it their average home gate of 70 thousand will be whispering this in unison. The important thing to remember is that at least we have a manager who was appointed after careful consideration. Currently holding the reins at the sty is the winner of the Gray vs Warnock handbags fiasco, that's all we need to know, no expense spared as usual UTB

I forgot Warnock was in the running for that, I actually know a few wendy fans that wanted him as well.

And yet, and yet...

Pearce leads race for Forest job as club say they are 'close' to naming new boss
Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi has claimed he is ‘close’ to appointing a new manager - who has an association with the club.

Former captain Stuart Pearce leads the way and has seen his odds slashed to 2/1 favourite, but ambassador John McGovern revealed Gianfranco Zola, Glenn Hoddle and Malky Mackay are also under consideration, as well as others.

McGovern said: 'We had a conversation with Stuart and we'll have to see what happens.'

Talking about the appointment, Al-Hasawi said: ‘I can promise Nottingham Forest fans will be very happy with the signing.

‘He’s a good manager. He has a good record and everybody likes him.

‘We have been speaking with the new manager.

‘I don’t want to say, but, yes, he has a (Forest) connection.’ McGovern added: ‘There are a number of names, which have included Hoddle, Zola, and Mackay.

Nigel Clough, Stuart Pearce, Roy Keane, Martin O’Neill, get a mention.’

And with regard to the OP, I can't see beyond Psycho or Mackay for the Florist job. It'll be interesting to see if the new appointee has the same probems with the owner that were intimated recently when Warnock was under consideration? For what it's worth, I think they couldn't go far wrong than to have Malky as their new manager, but then what do I know?

'but, yes, he has a (Forest) connection' then they link Zola with the ru

He won't go now and he won't go in the summer. Clough is a manager that doesn't chop and change teams, according to fake sources United have agreed personal terms with Karl Robinson everytime we have a vacant managerial position. Lets not worry ourselves about paper and social media gossip and concentrate on the playoffs and Wembley!

One of the major factors behind NC coming to bdtbl was the fact that he would be given an agreed budget and then total control to operate within the constraints of that budget, you only have to read today's Alan Biggs article in the telegraph to substantiate that.
He is able to do the job the way he wants and enjoys, subsequently why would he want to go somewhere like forest where apparently the owner wants his finger in all the pies.

Nigel is hear for the long haul unless something changes dramatically!

Unless forest offer him big big money he wont go anywhere

I don't think he is motivated by money, when he was at Burton he was approached by a lot of football league clubs (burton in conference at the time) but turned them down.

He is a loyal manager and likes to have complete control at a club which he has at Bramall Lane, there's a reason Warnock and Phyco have turned down the Forest job and I'm guessing it wasn't the amount they would have been paid.

I'm pretty sure his football salary is immaterial, certainly not a reason to jump ship.

The Biggs article is good and consistent with the reason he came: to build a club.

Our budget is in good hands and he is certainly more capable to hold his own at Board level than the vast majority of managers. He does things for the good of the club not personal gain.

I'm sure he is more than comfortably off with his property company alone.

We are very, very lucky to have him and he could well go on and do great things here.

UTB

From 33/1 outsider to 8/1

5th favourite....

Good names above him like hoddle n zola, but he's the only one in contract and doing it on the pitch...

Not looking good this, we are relying on his renowned loyalty..

I hear from very good sources that Warnock and Pearce turned it down for the same reason. The new manager will have no involvement in the transfer activity at the club, they want a head coach rather than traditional English type manager.

Why is it not looking good?

Why are we relying on his loyalty?

Because someone's had 50p on him and his odds have shortened?

Stop being so dramatic. He's going nowhere.

He's not been linked, mentioned by anyone to at NFFC.

Its not looking good because the odds have shortenend and he's a clough and they're forest, so the fans have said they'd be happy with him, we just handed them their arse a few weeks ago, and yes a few at forest have said they want him, gary birtles was live on sky sports yesterday, and when pushed on the subject by the interviewer and at the second time of asking from the interviewer, he reluctantly blurted out nigel's name and went on to say about the cup run and wembley and also how well a state derby were in when he was wrongly booted there, make no mistake, they are eying him up..

Birtles is the equivalent of Keith Edwards on the radio in nottingham, and Edwards himself said he was worried about losing clough should he carry on the excellent job he's currently doing, he said it on Saturday live on radio sheff..

I might be getting previous, and sorry to upset the applecart, but whenever we start to get something going on at the lane something always turns up and undoes the work setting us back years, tell me I'm wrong, its your opinion and I respect it...

And i'd love to be wrong.... btw

Tezza1889, I don't think it's a question of right or wrong. You'll never stop this media merry-go-round from focussing on whatever story they feel has legs. I'd be surprised if Clough left. He came to this job and was happy to sign with agreed parameters about what his job involved. It seems that the head honcho at Florist would be a nosey twat and put his nose in where it's not wanted. Having been sacked by Derby for reasons that I feel were unreasonable, I wonder if it's a realistic leap for Nigel to want to return to a situation that has all the makings of a managerial nightmare?

If I had 50p on Michael Jackson to be next Forest manager his odd would also shorted.

The only names that have been mentioned by NFFC officials are Mackay, Zola and Hoddle.

Birtles is Cloughs best mate. Birtles saying Clough should be looked at is the same as Tony Agana saying Deano should get the job.

Absolutely nothing is linking Clough to the job.

Alan Biggs (local journo) has even been in touch with Forest who confirm Clough isn't a target. The same journo also confirms Clough wouldn't be interested.

If you want to believe he's going then please do. But I think its laughable when you say 'Its not looking good'!

I honestly don't think NC is the type to jump ship. He's clearly got something good here and despite his Forest connections, i think he will be here for a good few years yet.

Yeah,.I don't think interference would be welcomed,.and I'm sure if its not good enough for warnock and pierce,.then its certainly not good enough for nigel clough by the look of it, especially with so much still to play for this sesson....

Just hope we get left alone to sort our club out, this great club has been cheated on enough and had prize assets stolen for peanuts be it managers or players while the board stood on and ineptly let it happen for a few buttons of cash..

Just pissed off with it, and frustrated that we might have another dumb move forced upon us..

Cause its the fans that get the shitty end of the stick every time..

My last word on this subject, some are obvoisly a bit prickled by the thought of this, me I was worried...

That was all....

Like many others throughout football, irrespective of which club you support, I had nothing but admiration for Brian, Nigel's dad. I have more than a gut feeling that Nigel may see the Blades, as his Dad saw Forrest, and Derby.
A club he can take from the lower reaches of league football, to the very top. If he were to choose either Derby or Forrest, he would be on a hiding to nothing. Always, but always, being compared to the incomparable.

Nigel has a blank canvas with the Blades. He has already painted in a Wembley Semi, and a rescue.
May be he realises just how far he can take us. I for one have joined the roller coaster. I hope the Board back him to the full.

Absolutely spot on - why attempt to recreate something his Dad did at those two clubs? - It's a hiding to nothing as the comparison will always be unfair. Now, if he emulates what Brian did but at a different club then that sets him apart on his own and shows exactly the measure and character of the man.
