Quite a good interview with him in the NOTW on his move to Motherwell. He mentions he had the opportunity to join Spurs and Villa, yet his biggest regret is not staying at Bramall Lane longer.

"Getting a taste of Premiership football sticks with you. and you want to get back there.

"It probably came a bit quickly for me. I got a taste of it then it was taken away in the space of a few months.

"If it happened now I'd do things differently. I should have stayed at Sheffield United a bit longer, that's the one regret I have about my career so far.

Stuart has been a big influence on me

"I'm not saying that I should be playing in the Premiership, but it's not something I've given up on. When I was younger people thought I'd go and play at a high level. I could have gone to Aston Villa and Spurs at the time, but I spoke to Stuart McCall and my manager at the time, Neil Warnock.

"They persuaded me to stay and promised I would get a chance in the Premiership. They were true to their word because I got five or six games when I was 18.

Good luck to him - a bit of a step up to go from League 2 to SPL (possibly).

Had he stayed though, I'm not sure he'd have necessarily had the opportunities.

Shame he didn't get a bigger move. We had a 50% sell on clause!

We may have skipped the Ryan France signing if he'd stayed...

That's a very good point.

It's a shame that given there were outgoing midfielders in the Summer of 2007 (Fathi & Leggy), we didn't give him a go at Championship level.

Was it Law who made his debut at home to Man Utd? Didn't look out of place to be fair. Shame we didn't hang on for a while longer but hey story of SUFC. Let players go.

I remember it being a bit of a shock when he was picked for that game. I think he'd featured in a couple of games before that but it might have been his 1st start. Very strange that he was shipped out on loan a matter of months later.

I remember watching both of his starts - the Man United game was quite a big shock. He seemed to be much more involved in the West Ham game when we were pressuring for the equaliser - which I thought we'd got legitimately, but was disallowed for what was apparently a foul on Green by Geary I think (when Green merely jumped into him as a flapped attempt at getting to the ball).

Did Robson give any youngsters a go in his stint with us? The Kyles came a year later, and I can't think of anyone else the year before.

I remember him being well out of his depth in a role he couldn't play. Not his fault but wasn't he asked to do a man marking job on Scholes when we had Monty on the bench? A bizarre team selection and I felt sorry for him.

I was amazed Law started against Man United. I always throught there was a good footballer in him trying to get our but like many before him (and since) the playing style at BDTBL was not suited to him. Oddly enough he'd be a decent signing for us this coming season.

He made a few strange decisions that season, starting Fathi in centre midfield away at Anfield was another that springs to mind.

Yes good luck to Law! But read today that blackpool and ipswich after Lowton, I hope it's not true. or at least we don't let him go because I think he could be a new Jags, or even better a first Lowton who we build a team around. But if money offered we as usual will take sadly!!!!

Is it fair to say that he didn't live up to expectation? I thought he looked alright when he played so good luck to him in the SPL
