So let's say that Neymar doesn't fancy PSG anymore and wants to come to BDTBL to get on the Chrissy Wilder bandwagon. Let's say Barcelona landed in Robin Hood airport for a gimmicky friendly against Sheffield FC and he fell in love with the place.

Anyway, BIG CHRISSY WILDER gets him signed and he's in the squad.

Exactly how much of an impact do you think he'd have on the team? Let's say we'd be mid-table as things stand - would we suddenly piss the league or what?

Not sure if imaginative history and 'what if' scenarios are the done thing on here, but it'd be interesting to hear what impact people think a single player would have on a team, especially as his big name-ness may risk fucking up the dressing room as he'd probably earn more than everyone else put together, including everyone in the stands on a matchday.

Thoughts?

and he is going to psg to be a big fish in a small pond

why the feck would he come here to be a small fish in fleckys pond

Too similar to Done.

If we signed him we would say we need a target man. If we signed Ibrahimovic we would be saying we need pace!

Are you Jordan Rhodes going by an assumed name by any chance!!???

Bit of shit deflection, with a touch of "hunt for likes" going on......

Not falling for any of these twitter rumours again. I'm still waiting for Jags to sign. Neychance this is happening.

Well first things first, we have a wage structure, so he'd need to take a big cut from his 775k per week, by approximately 770k.

He's probably not going to be as fit as the rest of the players after so long in Spain, so he'd be given a proper preseason to get fit and in that time he can learn about working hard for the team.

Then he waits for his chance behind Sharp, Clarke and Lavery, i'd imagine that he'd be match fit by about September and then, as long as he's not daunted by 25k+ proper fans as opposed to 100k tourists taking selfies that he gets at Bartherona. I might even play him in the Carling cup.

Then sell him next season for 500k plus addons.

Just seen that the lad scored 13 league goals in a shit league, I presumed that he was half decent and like Messi and Ronaldo, bagged 30-40 goals, but seems that he scored a moderate about, about what i'd expect from Leon Clarke.

So based on goals last season, if Neymar is worth GBP 200 Million, that makes Billy worth 460 Million!

Carabao Cup.

....and you were doing so well.;)

I refuse to acknowledge that its changed.

I think he'd last twenty minutes in the Championship and be stretchered off with a career-ending injury.

If he were playing against me, sure he'd skin me a few times but he has to be lucky all the time. I just have to be lucky the once.

I'd take the suspension and fine.

pommpey

Is that really how few he scored last season? Jesus wept. It is a ridiculous fee to begin with and I hope that financially, top tier football collapses internationally but that much for barely double figures. Christ. Hurry up and implode football. Give me United over this nonsense any day.

It was close to being a done deal. We offered £1.75 M and nobody had notice the decimal. But such are our penny pinching ways we refused up it to £1.96 M otherwise he'd have been unveiled on Saturday. Got enough up from anyway !

I was talking to @stringsenior about this at the start of last season, and whether we'd like to see United at the top end of the premier league spunkin moneh®️ on mega stars. We agreed it would be fun for a while but actually we'd rather be competitive and maintain our identity.

My Citeh supporting neighbour said the same 10 years ago, and he's now yearning for the good old days.

He was going to sign for us but we wouldn't stump up an extra £20 a week and a packet of Frazzles so he signed for PSG

To be honest I can't for the life of me understand why PSG want to breach FFP for a player who doesn't even make the top 5 in the world. I didn't see much of him last season, but he isn't actually that good a team player. Some fantastic show boating goals I'll grant you, but what about the wet Tuesday night at 'Boro?

Knowing us we'd probably break him on his first match and end up selling him to Leeds next season for 500k.

We can't have nice things like Neymar.
