Does anyone know about the new state of the art pitch being laid next season? Costing 1.7m not bad for division 3. It's the same as the emirates etc, basically if we had something like a concert on the current style pitch it would take the pitch 10-14 days to recover with this new pitch you could have a one direction concert Friday and play on it Saturday.

Well yeah, no fooker would go to see One Direction in concert

Yes, spoke to the bloke at Wembley who explained it to me,

This explains it quite well also, basically the roots of the grass you select to grow intertwines with the artificial fibres creating a stronger grass. Will look the same as a first play natural surface to the human eye, will continue to look like that for a lot longer than a natural surface.
When it's covered (in protection for concerts etc.) surface grass may go brown, but will recover much faster due to the stronger root system.
That's what I remember him saying, can't remember what grass seed he said they used though. I know it's a mix of three different types.

Hope its not like the keepmoat , its a third synthetic I think and absolutely awful. Played on it a few times and the bounce of the ball is ridiculous.

Don't think it's the same,
  • Computer-driven Desso machines inject 20 million artificial turf fibres 20 cm deep into the pitch
  • 1 artificial turf fibre every 2 by 2 cm, maximum fibre height above the ground is 2 cm

Where's the £1.7m come from?

The Star/Telegraph reported it as an £850k investment
