What are your hopes?

As McCabe said yesterday it will be more or less mid table and with a slice of luck you never know what can happen, plus with the team spirit we will nick a few more places imo so play offs a stretch too far? I would think so tbh but you never know

But I will be more than happy with mid table next season and hopefully build on that the following season with a real push for the play offs

One thing I am not looking forward too is if we are a mediocre mid table side and copping for the odd hammering here and there, that the unrealistic oddballs don't start turning on Sir Chris. Blades it is our duty to bitch slap any of these arseholes as soon as they arise and stamp it out, UTB

Do you know what ? I haven't thought about anything else all week and its driving me mad as I dont have a clue

My mind casts back to the Bassett era when we were promoted from the third tier with a side that wasn't expected to do much and were keeping up with the cash rich Leeds ,Newcastle ,Middlesbrough and Sunderland all season and ended in that joyous day at Leicester

I think to teams like Bournemouth ,Southampton and norwich who have just passed through the championship to the premier league with out a problem

Think it will cost us a few quid to emulate that but thats what hopefully we will do
As for wilder getting stick if we are midtable and getting a few hammering I just don't see that happening ,United fans aren't anywhere near as bad as made out on here and given some of the Shiite we have had to put up with it I think they have Bern very patient, crowds have been good but a sense of apathy was the worst thing about some of the last six years

Going to be an interesting summer but I do think even on a shoestring budget with much the same squad as now I think we would do ok

Another thing is you just don't know which players will make the step up and which won't even the manager hasnt worked at this level yet
Go right through from the keeper to the captain and can anyone be totally sure who will make it and who wont

But you cant just replace the whole team so I guess the upshot is we just won't know until the season is underway

My hopes is survival/lower-mid table and anything else is a bonus. I just do not want us to come straight back down, that would be a killer blow after 6 seasons in that shit hole.

Every neutral I have spoken to (numerous clubs represented, mainly Championship) thinks we will be comfortable upper half of the table, pushing for top 6. No dramas about staying up. They recognise momentum and a gifted management team can work wonders.

Not all but most Pigs I have spoken to think we will come straight back down, go figure.

My hope is for top 10, and I think we will do it. Wilder has risen to every single challenge presented to him as a manager so far, I doubt this will be different.

Wednesday are desperate for us to go back down cause they're terrified of the whompings they're about to get from us :)

Mid table obscurity with a little flirt with the play offs would do me fine

Along with taking points off pigs in both games

I think most will be desperate to go up, so they don't have to play us, the momentum is currently with our side of the city, yes they have a chance in the play off's but the season for them has been anything but straight forward, but I don't think they will go up and I would Imagine if we beat them next year there, with has they say it "vastly more expensive and better squad" then we really can rip the piss all year long.

UTB

We're a team, a unit, including us supporting. That is stronger than 11 individuals. I think we'll cause a few surprises
Totally agree, plus we have the Lord Wilder of Nazareth at the helm and as another poster has said 'he only wins leagues'.
Hold onto your hats boys and girls !! UTB

EmleyMoor !

Do we have many Blades in West Yorkshire ?

Hopes versus expectations? I hope we piss the Championship, getting up as champions again, having spanked the pigs at home and at the sty. I hope Billy Sharp scores four goals at the sty without reply, and I hope we give those Leeds twats a good seeing to as well.

Expectations? Not being shit, and not being relegated.

Not many round me. All either Weeds or Uddersfield fans Moved here due to work but still only 45 mins to BDTBL thankfully !

Who really thinks Mr Wilder will settle for aiming for mid table ??

Thought not.

He'll be gunning for play offs without fail !

Strap in boys and gals !!

The Championship is a new experience for our management team. The comments by both owners, about mid table, were to take a bit of pressure off Wilder. I think Wilder and Knill, especially Wilder, will not want to spunk loads of money on players until they are sure what is required. I think if they start well and after 15 or so games are near the top, they might well go for it, with money and players. At the start of this season I predicted a mid table finish for us and Leicester to go down. What the fornication do I know? I am, however, looking forward to see how Wilder acclimatises to this new challenge.

Top 6.

Why not?

Good manager

Good motivated players

A team that is playing the best football we've ever seen from a Sheff Utd side.

We've done it before under Bassett and Wilder will want to show we can do it under him.

I'm not a betting man but I will put money on us being promoted.
