I know everyone's gutted at the moment but we have to keep the faith.
The players you could see leaving would be Lowton, Maguire and Quinn. Maybe not McDonald because of his injuries.
Lowton-might want to stay and try help the club back into the Championship, make his career brighter.
Maguire-Wednesday mate tells me they're going to make a bid for him and could see him going there a he is a Wendy fan.
Quinn-how many times has he kissed the badge (i know a lot of players do it) but maybe its time to prove how much he does love United.
Simonson-Reckon we maybe should get rid, from what i've heard from my Blackpool mate, Mark Howard is a very good, promising keeper.
Ertl will go probably.
I'd then like us to sign Stuart Beavon from Wycombe (relegated so shouldn't be too hard), also maybe the Hearts captain who we are rumoured to be interested in. Freeman wouldn't be too expensive and would be a fantastic addition from Stevenage.
Porter and Cresswell will stay I think.
That'd leave us with:
GK: Howard, Long
RB: Lowton, Replacement
LB: Taylor, Jean Francois
CB: Hearts captain, Collins, possibly maguire
RW: Willo, Freeman
CM: Doyle, Macca, Mcallister
LW: Quinn, Flynn
FW: Beavon, Porter, Cressy, Philliskirk
There are obviously more players than this but thats the main bit of the squad. I would be happy with these players.
So bring on 18th June and bring on that cunt DiCanio, lets give him some right stick!

Need to keep Lowton & Maguire. Quinn snd Monty can go for me. Free up so wages and get a fee for quinn. Dont think we stand a chance with Freeman.

I'd like to see Beavon and Williams from Yeovil too. We should also keep Beattie on a 1yr deal. Simonsen earnt a contract yesterday. Best performance in a blades shirt IMO. Feel sorry for the lad

Beattie for another year? Are you mad? :)

Yer off yer fuckin heads ................... keep Cresswell an old man who's fooked after 30mins, Porter who is not much better and best of all Beattie and Simonsen ????? nice to see some fans share the clubs ambitions of ................... failure and obscurity

It's not so much we keep Cresswell & porter, it's just that no-one else will take them off our hands.

Feel sorry for Simmo, could have been a hero yesterday, but i think it's time for us to move on with the goalkeeping situation and give Howard the No 1 jersey.

Keeping Beattie makes no sense whatsoever.

We'll play Evans then shall we?! Or put this Howard bloke as 1st choice GK who weve never seen play. How on earth do yo think we'll get a new "decent" striker in? What we gonna pay for him? Magic beans? Sorry we need to build around what we can hold onto. Why were we so negative yesterday? Because we have no fit striker and wait for it, you now want to release two of the ones we have?!?

Yes one is too old the other not good enough, may as well see if we can pick someone up on a free transfer or give one of the reserves a go, must be something in the young reserves they won their league.

Now to be fair Porter was ok. Indeed he looked more promising than Cresswell after he came on.

The lad was garbage in the league game with Stevenage, but the goal in the play off semi must have helped him. I thought Wilson brought him on 15 min too late, but was right to use Cresswell first. I reckon Porter easily deserves to stay and give him a run. He reminds me a bit of Stead.

Of the players out of contract, I would bust a gut to keep McDonald and rebuff bids for Lowton & Maguire. That leaves a solid back 4, and a midfield built around Doyle & K Mac including some of the youth players that have done so well in the rezzers this season. I expect bids for Monty and Quinn will be accepted due to the wages they are on and Willo showing a goal return of 13 from a pretty much injury free season will have plenty of championship clubs after him. Yesterday showed just how badly we need Macdonald pulling the strings and just how important it is for us to get a clinical striker - we all know that is not easy, with Willo, Monty & Quinn off the wage bill next season that will help.
Keep the faith.
Que sara sara, whatever will be will be, we're going to Shrewsbury....

I'd get rid of the lot, all this current crop of senior players is good at is failing.

Due to the FFP rules coming in the club will not be able to keep any of the high earners and why should they?

Focus on youth, get a decent scouting set up going in non league and in France and put a wage cap in place within the club.

The McCabe experiment really has tanked, the club owes far too much money to him and for that he pays a squad of nearly
men over inflated wages. It's not good for him or the club but unless someone stupid wants to buy the club we are stuck with him.

OUT

Simmo
Quinn
Williamson
Montgomery
Ertl
Taylor
Cresswell
Porter
Beattie

I think you will find that there will be a lot more departures than any of you have mentioned.
No contracts will be offered for those lads at the end of their current deals - we simply cannot afford to.
Maguire and Lowton will have to be sold in order to pay wages of players left at the club.
It might fund a new striker but I cannot believe Beavon would be a target as he will surely be going to a Championship club.
Quinn will be sold as well because, despite what some of you see, he is a good footballer and will be in demand from Champ managers.
McDonald will also be snapped up by a Champ club - he will not want to play in this league again next season and his contract expires in a month or so.

Here's a key one - Monty has another year left on his contract - no one will take him off our hands (Millwall only wanted a stop gap to shore up a depleted midfield so they could avoid the drop - don't believe there was ever a chance of a permanent deal there) so he wil be here next year.

Loans will be the only way DW will get any fire power up front. Has to be cos we wont be able to afford a fee large enough to get a striker of any quality on a perm.

Our reserves top scorer was Philliskirk. Not good enough for first team action. Last time he played was away at Burton and missed a sitter from 3 yards out.
Still cannot see what all the fuss is about Long - he has looked poor in every game I have seen him in (including youth cup games)

McAllister will probably feature more next term. That will be the level of finance we can manage with the restrictions on wages coming into force.

MK Dons to piss the league next year.
We might get into the top 6 but don't hold yer breath

The closest I've ever been to turning my back on the blades was after the battle of bramall lane ( not because of the actual match ) but the dismantling of a decent second division team but the manager started to play the younger players and it reignited my passion watching lads like tonge jags and even monty playing with pride in the red and white . I think it's time we did it again perhaps we have no choice but I'd certainly enjoy watching them than some of he overpaid pros that haven't really justified their salarys

I'd love to see us keep mcd collins macguire Lowton and Quinn and fill the rest of the team with youngsters

We have 20,000 of the wage bill from ched and probably 15,000 from quinn when he goes.
Beavon will take 11,000 pw
Williams from Yeovil? 10,000 pw and we have this season's two top scorers that are still in the division
Then 14,000 pw for freeman from stevenage
Keep the defence together and we suddenly have a much better looking team?

Our wage bill will have to be cut by about 40 % next season . Let's build for the future , think we need some pace in the final third but can't see us spending owt so a couple of long term loans possibly from big prem teams . Can't think of anyone off the top of my head but certainly not o headless he should wears bandages and sunglasses so you can spot him on the pitch

Essential keeps for me. Collins, Maguire, Lowton, Macca and Doyle (my mom yesterday). the Spine of our side is good. We now need to put some youth and pace round these guys. I would imagine that Fleck and Hutton might be available for us again this summer. Fleck sounds like he needs someone like Wilson to get the best out of him, a bit like Evans.

We are going to ditch over 2 million in wages this summer. Evans, Simmo, Williamson, Ertl, BT, Taylor.Monty will be off to Leeds or whever and I think Quinn will be sacrificed for transfer fee and wages so the fair play thing is going in the right direction. I don't believe We will have to be under the limit next year, just prove your wage bill is going down.

Are you kidding about these wages? Freeman wil be out biggest wage earner and followed by Beavon with this road to madness. You won't be seeing many new wages about 6k while we are in this division.

Playing monopoly again with other peoples money?
I think you are miles away from the wages that we could afford.
Remember that Blackpool have a cap of £10k per week in salaries.
Do you live in a cuckoo clock or summat?

Have you just sat down and made some wages from the top of your head? Ludacrous statements there BFL. We have to cut our wage bill massively not replace them with made up figures. Freeman is a loanee from Arsenal and will probably be in the championship next season anyway.
Danny has to do some very important negotiations this summer. His priority from McCabe will be to further reduce the wage bill which I would imagine invite offers for Quinn and Monty with the latter possibly even on a free. As I stated earlier, Danny needs to tell McCabe that if we are to challenge next year we need to do 5 things:
1. Keep K Mac.
2. Purchase a striker that will bang in 20 goals (but every team in existance is doing this every summer!).
3. Only accept silly money for Lowton and Maguire (we can't say don't accept any offers because money does talk)
4. Keep K Mac.
5. Keep K Mac.

We could snap up a decent right back (this position doesn't pay as highly as other positions at this level I wouldn't have thought) and have Lowton right midfield. Then we have a team built around a solid core of Collins, Maguire, MacDonald and Doyle. Throw in some kids and there we have it, job done. It's a piece of piss really, anyone could do this managerial lark ;)
In summary, we rid the club of the wages of Quinn, Monty, Willo, Ched, Taylor, Simmo and Ertl. That can't be too far from £100k a week? Keep K Mac though obviously will have to be on higher than this year's wages, sign a striker and I reckon bringing youth through will result in a massive wage cut.
I know many don't agree but I would offer Beattie something - a wage we can afford - and it's a case of take it or leave it as at times he has looked good and has been unfortunate that Ched and Cressy stayed fit as the starting front 2 for so long he hasn't had time to get games in. But this is a whole other debate...

Next seasons squad will look very diffrent to this season.

I would loose:-
Monty - Leeds
Simmo - Released
Cresswell - Released
Evans - Jail (or if wins appeal signs for Championship team)
Taylor - Sold to whoever will buy him
Williamson - Sold to a championship team
Ertl - Released (thank the lord!)

Try to keep:-
Maguire, i think a top half Championship or Prem team will try to sign him though :(
Lowton, think Ipswich or possibly Norwich will try for him
Collins, may get offers from Championship teams
Kmac, think he will walk on a free. :(
Beattie, Player-coach role

Im not sure who we could sign. i think we need to look at young premiership players who have been released b their clubs. We need young players with pace & a point to prove after being shown the door by their clubs.

I would also try & use the development squad alot more & strat to bring the youngdters through. Inparticular, Harriot who i thouht would have played a much bigger role this season than he had.

My understanding is that Taylor's contract expires this summer.

Every cloud and that.

League 1 players can command wages of £10k a week? Christ, no wonder so many clubs are technically insolvent.

They're probably more in the region of £3-4k with better players maybe getting £5-6k, possibly more. I think the wages we pay are very much out of kilter with this league. I doubt very much that Stevenage, who were non-league not long ago, still with some of the same players, would be paying Freeman anywhere near £14k a week.

You reckon we ought to keep K Mac then ???????????
