Why???
Where did that come from?
Be realistic mate, it's an away game against a team that cost far more than ours and are in Europe.
If we don't win noone outside of our fans expects us to, so it's a predictable result.

and you think we will beat man u bolton or even west ham ? we are really in theshit if we loose saturday and teams around us win

I think we CAN beat Bolton, West Ham and Watford if i'm being realistic. Man Utd, no I don't think we can realisticly but we have before when we were given no chance.
We'll see anyway.

im not usually a negatvie person but i can only see us getting 3 points from that

We could easily beat newcastle to be honest, theyr'e missing Dyer, Martins and owen. They have very little attacking options. Providing we are confident we could snatch the points. I'm getting my ticets on the day, gota go in the home end though cos the away allocation has sold out.

Where is everyone drinking beforehand?

Plus their defence is always a shambles, I'd get Nade or CKR up front with Hulse terrorising the useless Titus Bramble. Their attack has suffered greatly since Shearer retired as well, perhaps they wish they never let Chopra leave for Cardiff?

I think that this is the best possible time to play newcastle, all of the reasons posted above coupled with the fact that Newcastle have just gone through a tough european away trip will only help our cause.

That said, i am fearful that another defeat and (unthinkably!) another blank in front of goal will lead to some large scale over-reaction from certain quarters.

This is a very tough run of games but i think we can get a result on Saturday and i fancy us to out muscle Bolton too.

My big worry, is the Warnock stubborn streak! The formation does not work, has not work (Man City aside, partially) and will not work because we do not have the midfield players capable of giving Hulse the support and quality possession needed. Ok, so we aren't getting thumped by anyone, but there ain't any prizes for only losing 1-0 every week. Better to lose 3-0 and then win 2-0, in other words let's have a chuffing go and show some positivity (not the warnock way, I know!). Anyone who thinks it is working, just check the goals for column, especially away from home!! Newcastle at the moment are very shaky, good result the other night is likely to be followed by a poor one, but I feel we will again just sit in and hope to nick something.

We do not have the right blend of players to continue with 5-4-1, if this was the intention with the purchase of Hulse, others should have been acquired to make it work. It is no great surprise to me that we are struggling and will continue to struggle to stay in the division (the squad looked short of quality from the off) but what is a surprise is the attitude to overcoming those shortcomings, I expected a have-a-go mentality. Rant over :D

Have to say that i completely agree with the points you make, lets hope that the manager can see that this game at the weekend is a real opportunity to end our horrendous away form and have a real go (i.e. play 2 strikers).

I also agree with seb and jodman we should play ' 4-4 fucking 2' and really go at them shock them with the pace we have at our disposal and be physical the great pansies wont like it like that

Roeder whinges...

Roeder bemoans fixture 'madness'

Glenn Roeder has hit out at a fixture list which has left his Newcastle side facing three matches in six days.

The Magpies meet Sheffield United on Saturday, two days after facing Palermo in the Uefa Cup, then travel to Watford on Tuesday for a Carling Cup tie.

"It's utter madness," said Roeder. "To expect players to recover in less than 48 hours is ridiculous."

Blades boss Neil Warnock believes the Magpies did not ask to switch the game to Sunday because it is on television.

With the game picked as the late televised showing on Saturday, Warnock thinks Newcastle were unwilling to sacrifice the financial gains.

"I was a little bit surprised when I heard they wanted to play on Saturday but the finances are massive now so you can't really blame them," said Warnock.

"What is it they get? £350,000? We're talking professional footballers here and they should be able to handle it.

"Newcastle didn't give us the option to switch days. If they had done, we would have switched."

A Premier League spokesman confirmed to BBC Sport that Newcastle had the option of requesting to play the game on Sunday, but did not take it.

The Football League stipulates that Carling Cup fourth-round ties must be played in the week beginning 6 November.

However, it is left up to the two clubs - Watford and Newcastle - to decide which evening to play on.

Newcastle were unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile, manager Roeder is taking a philosophical view.

"It is a big ask to have to play on Thursday, Saturday and then Tuesday, but we have got to overcome that," he added.

"The way things are going with the Uefa Cup and Carling Cup, we do have too many games.

"But I wouldn't have it any other way."

Story HERE

Sounds to me like they only have themselves to blame, the option was there to switch the game but they declined. I suppose they are just getting their excuses ready for when we take the 3 points back down to Sheffield :-)

I honestly think that we will win tomorrow, I just feel that this fixture is all set up for us to come out on top...although i had this same feeling against wolves in the Welsh capital a few seasons ago :-)

UTB

nd Rotherham Blade everyone is entitled to their own opinion it wouldbe shite if everyone thought the same but i disagree with you that wanrock should go if we don't win.. i agree i think it will be hard against bolton and even harder against man u but if we belive that they can it gis them more confidence and maybe they will win... i also think that we'll beat west ham

No question we will get behind the team again and outsing the Newcastle fans, we've GOT to beat them and we're capable of it, I don't care how, why or who, even if it takes the ball coming off a Newcastle player's arse into the net, I will be dead happy taking all 3 points away.

liek i said to my mate i think our best chance is if we can get under the skin of the geordie players and in turn piss the fans off so theyget hurl abuse at their own players just like we did at man city

That could happen quite easily rb considering Newcastle are such a "big club" and the fans will be more demanding for a good result against us than Manchester City's fans were.

If he goes 1 upfront i will not go to another away game until he is gone. Thats a promise.

How said is it that warnock has completly taken all the enjoyment out of the premiership for me?

I really dislike the man, i mean really. With his stupid big nose and cocky arrogant little brain, with his crappy Footy manager formations that dont work.

God, even looking at him annoys me.

Warnock out.
