Of course he has, but why the f'k is he looking at players for the future when we need players for the now? Particlarly as 10 of em have just been shipped out

Sort out survival now. Look at players for the future in the summer

Priorities

So lets say, to play Devil's Advocate. He's signing the next Theo Walcot or Gareth Bale now before the Premiership vultures grab him. Somebody like Will Hughes at Derby (obviously not him) that Clough helped through the ranks, would you still be pissed?

I think it's good that he's looking forward, that means he's in it for the long haul

Yes, very often that they're not good enough. May I introduce you to Joe Ironside, Jordan Chappell, Callum McFadzean, David McAlister, Erik Tonne, Matt Harriott, Jordan Slew, Elliot Whitehouse, Terry Kennedy........?

Hope you don't mind, but i've crossed out the players you listed that haven't really been given a proper chance at SUFC.

I feel Whitehouse & Kennedy will be given chance but they haven't yet.

You also forgot Maguire & Long :D

They've all been given every chance. They've all had the opportunity to impress at Under 18 and Under 21 levels and in training. It's up to players to make it impossible not to select them. It's professional football, not the X-Factor.

No they haven't. They have all rarely featured, get 2 mins here, 5 mins there. I thought Tonne was a good player then he just disappeared.

We have had ample opportunities to give the players above game time when we were 2 & 3 up in the last couple of years but Wilson chose not too. I don't think we have that luxury anymore so pinning hopes on them this season would be wrong and so loans out is the best option to further develop the players.

Harry Bunn - has he been given a chance at Man City? He's impressed in the u/18s & 21s but doesn't play in the first team.

Staggered by that. Don't rate Baxter as highly as many on here do but Philliskirk? I didn't see anything at all when he played to suggest he would be a decent player.

That's because there was nothing to see. However, he's gone now so that changes everything.

It's the Bladesfans' Way.

Is it the remit of every United manager to move on players without having replacements ready to come in straight away? Or at least make it look like that's the case.

I have no issue with Clough signing promising young lads Matt. However, right now, just at this particular moment in time, he should be focusing on sorting out our first team, the one were we've just shipped out 10 players, the one that's in a scrap at the wrong end of the table. The one were our strikers couldn't score in a brothel

He can bring in as many young lads as he wishes and building for the future is just fine and dandy, so long as the future doesn't happen to be in 4th division next season that's all

Most of the "knockers" on h

Most of the "knockers" (if we're calling them that) on here want all the squad gone anyway so Clough is doing that and people are whinging that we're getting rid with no replacements. How are we meant to pay for these players? We don't have a money tree or any magic beans.

I think most people wouldn't argue with the players who have gone out and we could add another two or three to the list really. But we need consistent D3 players in NOW. Not at the end of the month, but NOW so we can try to start picking up some desperately needed points to scrape into mid-table obscurity and sigh a breath of relief !!!

Then, in the summer, gut the squad and bring in some players who ARE capable of getting us out of this division.

The Offical Site Friday 17th January 9am..

Sheffield United are pleased to announce that Jonathan Forte has returned to the club until the end of the season..

Can you imagine

Don't even talk about it jokingly, because there are some tight fisted idiots at BDTBL who may try to take this cheap stupid option again as per last year instead of signing Wright-Phillips which would likely have got us promoted !!
Thanks Kev !!

if Clough has decided all those players are out the door then so be it. He's the manager. My gripe is with making sure he brings in suitable replacements and concentrate only on the here and now which is to avoid relegation
