I was asked earlier today how I thought the blades would do and answered that I've got no idea.

22 players have left the club

12 signings have been made

Of the 14 who played today, 10 weren't in the side at the end of last year (Scougall and Freeman plus 8 new signings) of the 4 unused subs Whiteman and Long were the only survivors and if Chapman, Ramsdale and Lavery get a look in then the 6 selected today could easily fall to 3.

Have we ever had such a huge turnover of players before?

Probably not, but then such a turnover has probably never been needed before. Last years squad was an insult to the club and a disgrace to the profession.
I'm grateful that these malignant influences have been eradicated from the squad. I'm hopeful that these years team will be something to be proud of.

Last seasons team were as welcome to me as that dose i caught when i was in Blackpool in my early 20s from a bird from Gateshead and her cousin over from Australia. Never did find out which one of em had spread the love...
