The only song were gonna sing is the one written by Egan - contrary to some claims , it does NOT contain the word "pink" - the line is
"He stuck that paper on the wall".
This must mean a newspaper cutting in which somrone had labelled the team as "journeymen".
Egan is highlighting how wrong that label is.

I agree, I think it was a newspaper article describing Uniteds squad, as a collection of ‘journeymen’ that Wilder stuck on the dressing room wall. Seems to have done the job, cos..............

“Now were going on a journey..........to the feckin’ Prem”. ;)

"Hartlepool to Brighton"

This line brought back so many memories.

Back to basics._

Mr Wilder had a team eei eei o
and in this team was Billy Sharp, eei eei o
with a great goal here and a great there
here a goal there a goal every one a great goal
Mr Wilder had a team eei eei o

Mr Wilder had a team eei eei o
and in this team was Jack O'Connell eei eei o
With a header out here. a header out there
here a header there a header every one a great header
Mr Wilder had a team eei eei o

I'll leave you to guess the rest........

Surely there's no more........

Not that I could recognise loads of them, but I think Cork is a particularly attractive Irish accent.

In Ireland they tend to take the mick out of it. It sounds quite gutteral in comparison to other county accents.

They also have a habit of using the word boy where Sheffielders would use pal or mate. I always wonder how a Cork man goes on when talking to an African American

To the tune of "Allez Allez Allez"

"We've travelled all of England
We're never gonna stop
Hartlepool to Brighton
We've beat the fucking lot
With Wilder as our leader
He'll take us to the Prem
We battered them at Hillsborough
And will batter them again

Allez Allez Allez "

Thoughts? I'd love to hear this ring out tomorrow night. Been wary of posting as most new songs set shot down...

I don't know how Americans would react, but at least they couldn't drown him.

Young Cork men known as rednecks.

Slap on the neck from mother, "get to Dublin and get a job yer lazy fecker."

Glad you've cleared that up for me

How / where the feck could "pink" fit ?
