Anyone got any updates on a new shirt for next season??? I'd be very surprised if we keep the same shirt as last season with the club shop selling them off for a tenner.

i'd be very surprised if the club decide to keep the same shirt as last season too. The "Fan's Charter" on the OS has stated for several years that the club will swap shirts every season, both home and away.

I dont think weve finalised the design yet, were trying to see if we can offload a couple of the stripes to Southampton for free.

Nope, it breaks my design criteria on several points:

1. An away kit is a change due to colour clash, ergo it will contain none of the colours of the home kit. That is red, white and black

2. If you wear stripes your away kit must be solid block. That has errr, red and white stripes!

3. Your away kit shorts and socks will not duplicate the home. They are black shorts!

4. Ginger with white just does not work. Quinn would look like a ghost leprechaun in that!

He's talking about his 'design', ie what he wants from a shirt.

He's right though, the colours should not duplicate the home kit. I did like last seasons away kit, but it should not have been released.
Also the Liverpool kit you have linked to, is not really that nice, in fact for me it looks crap.

Spot the difference....

Perfect for United's tradition of shirt design then.

Spot on Robbie! I'm also trying to point out that 3rd kits are unnecessary and just another rip-off expliotation of fans. If you follow those simple design rules no club should ever need a 3rd kit. One of my bonnet bees!

I'd like to see us return to a yellow and red away kit. How about a reprise of this classic:

I've said this before but I'll say it again. United's away shirt should be either plain white, plain black, or one of those retina-searing bright colours we seem to go for and othe clubs have latched onto, like the old Umbro steward-alike shirt, the one from a few years ago in Lifeboat Orange, or the last neon greeny one from three seasons ago. Third strip? Cocks to that.

We should get a kit deal with umbro and get them to reproduce the original lime green/yellow kit - that shirt is iconic. Wish I had one.

These, but the away kit and home shorts black instead of blue?

I'll tell you what I do know ,UTD pay around £4.50 for a shirt and sell it for over 40 quid and about £2.50 for a pair of shorts which are usually about 20. British (sheffield) companies can't get the fabric for that never mind the labour/transport etc costs.

New PSV kit is what we should be wanting, simple design red white and black white white socks!

I did a little Photoshopping.

I always prefer black trims/collar. All red and white shirts just seem too "Stoke" to me. I suppose it's cos I started going in 1991 and pretty much every shirt we've had in my time, has featured plenty of black.

stoke would have a white collar and cuffs if you're talking classic designs.. they somehow switched to red recently.. i'd like to see a classic retro design like the athletico madrid one.. simple symmetrical red and white stripes.. no bollocks.. totally agree about the 90 away shirt.. absolute classic.. it was on umbro though, they probably have the patent

At the end of the day the shirt is gonna be red and white stripes of some sort or another. It's quality that's the issue and if we stick with Macron we will not have any quality
