I CLEARLY don't know. But, the challenge would be - how does ANYONE know ANYTHING about why owners want to own.

Let's not base that on what they say...

They've treated us like a plaything. We're a plaything.

I’d say the opposite, they’ve more or less completely ignored us and left the running of the club to Bettis. If we were a plaything they’d be interfering left, right and centre.

It’s an investment vehicle, someone has tricked the consortium into putting money in on the assumption of a return because it looked like we were on track to get promoted. Now that chance has been squandered they don’t have the experience needed to get us back on track.

The consortium don’t want to spend their time running a football club but don’t have the contacts or experience to hire the right people.

The Bettis shit show will continue until morale improves.

I find it astonishing

I ask the question, would these successful business men go through an interview process when employing someone in their own line of business? Of course they would and yet here they are now owning a multi million pound business with little or no knowledge and experience and yet there’s no rigorous interview process for a key role. It really is astonishing and I have to ask the question, where was Bettis during all this? Did he try to intervene? Did he just sit back and let them get on with it?

What an absolute shit show and has probably written this season off already and which could potentially cost the club millions?

I get that some fans want the club to go in a different direction, but not at the expense of the clubs status by making incredible and fundamentally ridiculous decisions

Again, I don't know. But. Signing Jeff and the Nigerians from Bulgaria. And then shifting Jeff to Scotland for giggles. Those are owners plaything moves aren't they? Those don't feel like Bettis plays do they?

Caceres gets shipped off in short order up to Scotland after thinking he was going to be playing for us.

I think dropping out of the championship probably focused their minds a little bit, hopefully our form has done the same with our owners and we don’t need to drop for them to get the message.

We’ve spent big, they spent a lot of money on the club, we spent money last Jan and have spent again in the summer.

The issue is how we’re spending the money. A lot of it has gone on loans and shite players.

Look at the bigger picture. The Prince made a decision to retain two key players in our promotion push season. This caused us a cash flow problem, resulting in a two point deduction. His judgement gained us a promotion to the Premier League.
Our current owners chose to sack Wilder and appoint a manager who was very obviously out of his depth. To date, that decision has backfired spectacularly, cost at least 15 points this season, and probably ruined our prospects for the season, particularly given the obvious holes and imbalances in our recruitment.
The Prince was a long way from perfect, but I think that he showed much better footballing judgement that our current incumbents have to date. That's the point that was being made in regard to the bigger picture. Raking up the 2 point deduction in the absence of the broader context of the situation is a bit churlish and blinkered, in my opinion.
