we seem to have quite a number of fans who know more or think they know more about what we
need to gain promotion than cloughie who dragged a set of players who were doomed to relegation.
we have lost 3 players ( 2 of which were instrumental in what we did last season) there was no way
we could replace like for like with that kind of quality. apart from one or two gambles ( mcnulty being one) the
squad all round is a lot stronger and i would say the strongest squad in the division (we now have cover in
almost every position in the team) name another club ? with the same amout of cover. there maybe teams
with possibly stronger first 11 but as we know it is a long season and depth of squad will be very important
as the injuries and suspensions kick in(it is dificult to tell who has got the strongest first 11 so early in the season
but we definately have the strongest squad in the division) give clough a bit of space he has earned the right to
do it his way
to replace harry and brayford you need to be talking top 0f championship minimum and transfer fees and
wages to match 10 K a week minimum and that would"nt go down well the other players(team spirit) you cannot
pay players that kind of money in this division even if youve got a prince as co owner it would be stupid!!
you can call me a clapper if you want but clough in my eyes is doing it right ..I like almost every blade
thought that weir was just the job but we all got it wrong he was a disaster, if clough gets it wrong (i beleave he wont)
the powers that be cant afford another disaster and would do what is required they would sack him.
managing the blades is a pressure job(a number of previouse managers were not up to it) he is focused and knows what he wants let him get on with it.

But do know shopping in the football equivalent of Poundland is not going to get you anywhere regardless of how long the last £1 strip of AAA batteries kept running during the previous season.

most players signed on free"s are not a cheap option the players and agents are the one"s calling the tune now
up until the bosman ruling most free"s would have cost a transfer fee even premiership players go free"s end of
contract!! and player power kicks in

Please could you articulate a little more clearly by using punctuation because seriously I haven't a fucking clue what you are trying to say.

Ghandi. Clough shopped on the cheap at Derby, look where they are now and most of his cheap players are in the squad.
Give him room, he's earned it, as the OP correctly said it.

The problem for some is that because it is free it doesn't have a value. Clough treats the money he has like it is his own and personally, I respect him for that. All the players that he has picked up for free is because their contracts have run down and the players are free to choose, Basham, JCR, McGheahy, Buttler etc were all strong performers for their old clubs, have consistently played at a higher level and in most cases their clubs would have preferred to keep them. It is just an issue that none of them have cost us anything so they must be rubbish syndrome that affects people's view of them.
After what Clough did with Flynn, Murphy and Coady, all of whom were consistently abused on here, I think we should give him and the new players a chance to bed in and show their worth.
Whether as I think, he has too many players, is another point. Success last year was partly because the team was very settled as the pool of players were limited and so there was stability

Where the feck are these intellectual fecking posters coming from? :D

To be honest, living in Sheffield, a working class city you're always going to get some non-intellectual posts.
I bet the Fulham forum is a great place, I might head ones self over there.

Finlaytheblade, when you typed the OP were you wearing mittens?
No but if you prefer i could typ it in shorthand ? but maybe a few posters would not be able to read it at all.
