Presumably as he's an experienced premiership amd international defender who plays in a position that we don't have a plethora of options.

Why he's displaying such poor form however... i'm not sure :(

Is this Neighsmith a new member of the horse society?

I think hes a fairly decent player but is not offering us anything at all - When Carney's fit Id move Stretch to LB am stick Carney out wide (LM)

Naysmith isnt offering us anything at the moment (not saying hes not a good player), but if he finds form then he can do a job ... Until then, while ever he lets attackers push him back to his own 6-yard box before attempting to block their pass/shot or make a tackle, he isnt good enough!

It looks to me like the other players don't really seem to get along with him. Like an example yesterday, he blocked a cross with his face and not one player said well done to him or anything. Also when Tonge played a bad ball to him which resulted in Naysmith having to hit it against a QPR player and hoping for the best. Tongey had a right rant at Naysmith for it, and that doesn't seem like someone Tonge would ever do.

Well past his sell by date total waste of money, our Gert's got experience and would perform better...................................

It's disappointing, I had high hopes for him when he came. He seems to do well when playing for Scotland but not for us.

Perhaps he is now?

I just think he's out of form personally.

When we bought him he'd still been playing regularly at the top level and internationally.

I just don't he suits this league in all fairness.

I'm a big critic of Naysmith, but this is primarily because I know he is better than what we see of him.

Did you actually see much of him last season?

And he's not a horse.

I thought we'd got rid of the horse:D

But i do expect more of Naysmith, sometimes he gets stuck in and puts in some good crosses. A lot of the time it is him getting beaten or mis kicking the ball.

Mousey could have a good point though about the team not liking him, and that would most definatley affect his confidence and morale.

No my information comes from scouse pals i've known for years £1million makes Jags look a reight steal at £4million, Moyes laughed all the way to the bank..............

Not a horse......correct, all horses have value......

His performance yesterday was the worst i have seen in over 45years a Blade and big money Beattie was only just in front..........

Yes because Axel Smeets and Michael Twiss put it a lot better performances.

As a defence we looked solid. They had one chance all game and unfortunately for us they took it.

Naysmith blocked a cross with his face, what more do you want than that?

can we sue everton for conning us out of £1million?

Naysmith has been utter shite for us. i really cant remember if hes put in a good performance for us.

I fail to see your arguement for him being "shite". Would you prefer that he ducked and let the cross go in?

I was going to post something along those lines but couldn't arsed to reply to him.

Naysmith has been steady but uninspiring, but so has the team. Given that we now play 7 games on the trot (starting with QPR) with only 3 or 4 days rest between games, we should be pleased to have the squad we've got - including Naysmith.

how do you call naysmith steady exactly? letting attackers walk past him? not marking men? getting caught time after time? could play armstonge there instead, he does a better job.

mousey, he didnt have much chance of getting out of the way of that cross, but whats to say it would have gone in?

You can't score when the ball isn't in play.

People just look for the bad in everyone, Kilgallon got all this shit at the beginning of this season and now he looks like an assured defender. Naysmith can probably do the same and I hope he does.

true you cant score when its in play but it gave them another corner. cross could have gone in paddy collected we broke and scored. all ifs and ands really.

But how long do you want to give naysmith? hes not put in one good performance. hes being caught out all the time, and continually plays it long to no one. he looses the ball too much and gets knocked off the ball too easy, hes slow and out of position alot of the time.

On Saturday, why wasn't Armstrong getting on the end of the long balls then? Because he was out of place too. Naysmith makes brilliantly timed tackles which people hardly give him credit for and for his average size, wins more than half the headers he goes up for.

Anybody who says Naysmith is shite doesn't know a soccer player from a horse. He may not have ever been good (he's always been 6 out of 10 never 8). Armstrong should play in front of him but is too useful elsewhere. You have to use your squad. To date, Tonge and Quinn have been good and bad so Armstrong has been useful in midfield, though out of position.

most horses are usefull.

Unlike your comment. Given that Naysmith plays for Scotland and Armstrong doesn't your extreme comment is not warranted. In the meantime I wouldn't put any bets on the ponies. If you have the capacity to tape a game I suggest you do a count on the number of passes, tackles and interceptions made. All of which add up to the fact he is doing a job. Again I have never rated him better than 6/10 and why I prefer Armstrong is in the ability to go forward. A Bardsley-Geary combination would have been our best option but that has gone.

You have your opinion and i have mine............
Neighsmith is shite.................
