near post??

Four times today we had low crosses driven in but everyone is waiting at the far post.
Why does nobody go to the near post????

i noticed that

it just needed 1 player making a near post run but no one did?

i yhink it should be Evans making these runs with Hendo peeling off to the back post for the deeper crosses.

Yes looks like Treacy has been told to dirve low hard crosses. It was always blocked at the near post. These should be high crosses to the far post (or near post for the flick on) - they are harder to defend.

Two basic rules about prefering to cross to the back post:

- the closer the crosser is to the first post
- the longer the attack has lasted

In both situations defenders tend to get drawn to the first post leaving space for free headers at the back post.
