Ndiaye's Maradona goal

Having looked at the replay I recorded, he doesn't really go through anyone. He has 2 of them backing off him until he knocks it wide and shoots. He shrugged one off before that on halfway

He went round that first lad that dived in, absolutely. After that I agree it was mostly backing off.

Best individual goal scored against Blackburn at the Lane since Steve Wigley's effort back in the 80s. Now that was a superb goal. Ndiaye's wasn't bad though was it!
Better that Wigley's goal. It was against Blackburn too!

The sort of goal you see every once in a while & it was a pleasure to witness that today.
Incredible ball control, pace, power, accuracy. I love that lad.
BUT what I really liked to see was Sander Berge stood still near the centre circle applauding the quality of Ndiaye’s goal.
Just stood. Still. Clapping.
He was acknowledging the absolute brilliance of his team-mate and that for me a huge sign of strength for this squad.
I have a warm feeling inside somewhere about what this season could deliver.
“Singing I I Iliman Ndiaye….”

I hope someone can catch that somewhere on a replay (of Berge). That sounds brilliant.

He's fucked up badly scoring a goal like that before we've sorted a new contract out

The rate of this lad's development has been astonishing. Physical, work rate, link up, decisions, game intelligence, goalscoring..... if he carries on at the current rate he'll be champions league level by the end of the season. No kidding. I've rarely seen such rapid development

Yeah I saw that too.

And a lovely step over to make room for the shot, fantastic goal worth the admission price alone
The exact same stepover and left foot finish that he did vs fulham... more difficult finish mind.

Agreed. The one against Fulham was far better, but both great.

What a day.
Ollie's first and Illys second. Not many days we'll see two goals like that in a match.
Definitely a day to savour
I said the same. It’s not often I’m still sat down when the ball hits back of the net but Norwoods free kick caught me completely by surprise!
Ndiaye just gets you out of your seat every time he’s on the ball.

Spoke to someone last night who said they saw it on Sky Sports News and agreed it was a great goal.

Later that evening I saw highlights of the EFL goals on Sky Sports news
However I noticed that the Sky Sports News editing didn't do justice to how great the goal was.

Neutrals won't realise why it's should be a goal of the season contender.
The goal highlight on TV starts from N'Dieye on the edge of their area, then curling it on off the post.

The TV doesn't show that (like the Maradona goal) N'Dieye started his run from well inside his own half.
He ran almost the full length of the pitch, pass 3 defenders, before his brilliant finish.

N'Diaye has a good chance of a call up for Senegal in the World Cup. They have a good team with a fair few Premier League players so he probably won't start He won't be ahead of Sadio Mane or Ismaila Sarr. However Senegal don't have the hardest group with host Qata and Ecuador and the Netherlands. As African Campions you would expect them to get out the group stages. Imagine N'Diaye comes off the bench and scores a goal like he did yesterday. Players who catch the eye at the World Cup often go for big big money, much more than they are probably worth. If N'Diaye catches the eye with a goal like yesterdays we would have a player worth £50m plus
