BILLY SHARP, WE'VE GOT BILLY SHARP.

Just been thinking, on target for 25-30 goals (aka Ched) this season but it's simply not good enough though. We should drop him and give some other fecker a chance.

Come on admit it, if he'd not scored today ya would have wouldn't you ya plumbs??

Billy's a class act, on and off the pitch, and we're lucky he's a Blade. We're lucky to have him, he's (at least!) a top-half Championship level player. I know there's been a couple of negative posts on here, but he obviously has the support of the vast majority, so not entirely sure what your point is?

He's guaranteed goals with any kind of service. It's incredibly hard to find that kind of player, and everybody in the JTW will be fighting over the few that are out there. Fantastic player for us.

Partially disagree.

Sharp has lost half a yard of pace and sharpness and no longer able to create his own chances.
This season there's been a common theme where he's in a bit of space, just about to shoot and the defender closes his down and gets in a block or partial block. He's had a few ineffective game but I'll always value him becuase (like Done) he works hard, has a great attitude and I think his postive influence and will to win probably rubs off on other players.

In the wrong team Sharp would struggle badly.
However play it to his feet into his path then I admit he's a great finisher, top end Championship.

Suppose it's similar with many strikers you need to know how to play to the players strengths.
However if you compare to Ched (in his final season) he didn't need setting up and could score goals from nothing.

Class player. He has lost any pace that he had from last season but he's an all round better team player.

Who cares if hes lost a bit of pace.his position is front of goal.waiting for the 2 or 3 chances that come his way.hes in the right position at the right time.100% reliable. bit dodgy with penaltys

He's still gorra fat arse.:D

I'm shocked by how many people think the leagues joint top goal scorer is so bad.

I think a lot of people who slag him off would be singing a different tune if he was at a rival club and would be saying how much ambition they had to sign a proven goal scorer and how we need a goal scorer of his calibre who may not always be stunning to watch but will score and score the winning goals.

I think people have gotten far too comfortable since we've had sharp. can you not remember what we had before him?

Credit where credits due and sharp deserves some.

Just seen the "nan ha na na na nah...." thread. I suppose I'm a bit late with my thread but glad I'm not the only one surprised.

Smoked.

There should be balance. I've seen loads of matches this season where Sharp has been dissapointing. Also although his scoring stats seem good we are creating loads of chances every match so it's easier to be more prolific.

Fans of other clubs think he's brilliant and see his goals but what they don't realise is that Sharp must have the ball to his feet and be unmarked then he's a great finisher.

However like most players he has weaknesses too. No physicality, no height, not quick and no quick reactions.

He's a predictor type of striker that has natural instinct to finish well but a factor that probably more important to me is Sharps effort and attitude, which is first class and his desire to win for his beloved Blades probably influences and inspires his team mates. So I'm definitely pleased with his contribution.

While I agree, every player has their own style and ability, we're playing to his and seeing goals from everyone. I just think we should be thankful for what he is doing rather than focus on how he's doing it. The team is working, and we should enjoy it!

Some melt will want him dropped.

If he has no physicality, needs the ball played to feet and be unmarked how did he score that headed goal against chesterfield?

If he hasn't got quick reactions how the fuck did he get a brace against Coventry last night?.. both goals came from his quick reactions.

Fun with stats:

Bill Sharp: 119 League games for United, 43 goals
Tony Agana: 118 League games for United, 42 goals
Ched Evans: 103 league games for United, 42 goals

Keith Edwards 261 games 143 goals - just saying - love Billy
