I still think we are one attacker short from the perfect window. We could do with 6 players for the top three positions on the pitch, Brewster, Sharp, Ndiaye, Berge, Khadra and one more. Just thinking over a full season with injuries and 5 subs it’s gonna be important.

Interesting hecky has been in Manchester. I’d love us to pick up Hannibal Mejbri from Man U on a loan, very very exciting CAM but they’ll more than likely send him abroad. Imagine if it was Chong. That would then genuinely be our best window in my memory.

If I was super greedy I’d be in for another central midfielder too but that’s assuming Coulibaly doesn’t step up. If he does, we’re fine there with Norwood, Doyle, Fleck, Coulibaly and Arblaster getting minutes as and when. Unless it’s someone obviously too good to be true I’d prefer to give Arby the minutes tbh as he’s our asset to develop.

Defence is as strong as it has been in a long time. Defences win you titles. I think people are forgetting just how good Bogle was in an attacking sense. That was also playing in sides that had Burke and Mcburnie in. Imagine how he’s gonna be with ndiaye, khadra, Doyle in our new look attack.

I can’t work out if I’m being biased or if we have head and shoulders the best side in the league.

There are some on here that are convinced that Berge will be staying with us. Hope that is true, but if he is wanting to leave then we had better cash in before next year with his contract running out. Maybe he will go in January if not this window?

Tbh, I dont think many of us expected any more signings with a transfer fee attached. Its been fairly clear that it's loans and/or free transfers. That's fine asi think we are in a good place to entice the better younger players from the PL on loan, whilst there are still some very useful free agents knocking about. I can see us brining in a RWB sooner rather than later and then probably another number 10 nearer the deadline. I don't think we can be pissed off as the club has done what it can and backed Hecky for this season. The club still has bills to pay and financial obligations and I think they have been as proactive as possible within their financial limitations. I'd go as far as to say we've done bloody well in this transfer window. We'll done to all so far. Just need a couple more in and we will go well this season.

Who hinted at them being exciting?
May have missed that.

I don't think we're in for either of them, or we'd be in talks already as they're both available. I'm just suggesting that Grabban in particular would be very sensible for us. He's proven, offers a style we don't have, can finish and it would negate the need to play Sharp all of the time.
Just my thoughts.

Brewster and Sharp will be our first choice forwards. Very possibly one of them at a time, spearheading a front three.

I merely pointed out that you didn't mention Brewster (and I've seen others do similar).

Be careful what you wish for!
The incoming players are all good lads on the football side, with a decent mix of youth and experience.
As far as I’m concerned, Hecky and Sharp have encouraged and developed a very strong spirit in the dressing room. Too much change could upset the balance, and I defy any fan to say that the dressing room spirit is just as important as strengthening the squad.
Yes, we need and want new quality players, but they will have to play their part in a strong dressing room.
The difference was exemplified by two loan players last season. MGW and Ben Davies both had a very different impact, on and off the field, for different reasons.
New pieces of the jigsaw need to fit in from a playing point of view, and also in their contribution in the dressing room.
