Agree - and the tightfistedness has been clear in our transfer dealings so far. We were told significant investment would happen when we got in the Championship - and we now have an extra £7m from the Walker and Maguire signings - but we still come across as tinpot compared to most at this level.

The fact is we need more quality to compete - and generally speaking quality costs more than we seem willing to pay.

Don't get me wrong I love wilder but some of his comments have just cast my mind back to the days of Warnock trying to show the board up by talking of picking dogshit up off graves park and nearly having a seizure when being asked about other clubs wage bills and transfer fees
