One of the reasons I joined the forums is to keep up with the lock 'news'
Rumour and the like.
I'm not an ITK individual,
Though did have an inkling shared at the Oldham away game
That board members weren't impressed with choices of team selection and tactics
And that enough was enough....

However, I've never see nor met our Mr Phipps.
Just wondering if any others on here have had this privilege
And what impression have they got..

A few years ago I brought my son, then 14 over to the academy for a g/k session..
He was treated really well,
But amazingly enough his highlight; much to my surprise,
Was when we got introduced to TC...
It made my day but I hadn't realised just how much my son
Had thought of him,
He's only ever seen a few clips on you tube or dvd etc.....

Just about the most decent person I've come across - especially in public life. See the recently resurrected Inteview thread for some insight.

Has very strong business and organisational credentials too.

Seems a very nice chap. Bumped into him on a train back from Manchester. We spoke briefly about how he was finding being at the club and he said he was loving it. Also said '...it does leave you exposed as a bit of a pissing post', referring to the comments he gets on Twitter from some idiots. Followed up by saying the positive conversations he has on there far outweigh the negative (you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise on days of defeat). Thanked him personally for giving me two free tickets to a game the other year when I was skint.

He's oreyt, our Jim.

I sometimes think hes so over the top he must be fake, but he seems a very likeable chap in his interviews.

I've never met him, or I'd drop him.

Top bloke.

Really good guy Jim. Spoke to him a few times. I get the feeling he will become the heart of our club (apart from us fans of course). Will be an influence on attracting top players as he has that like likeability factor.

He is 100% genuine. I met him the weekend after the Ched saga was in full swing, never met him before and he was very open about all the details, a mate of mine in the group then invited him to his 30th birthday party that night in high green. Like clockwork that night, Jim turned up at his 30th.

He's the main factor in me not panicking when we sold Murphy last week.

We're very lucky to have somebody on the board like him, everybody pisses and moans at him when things go bad but imagine having hull, Leeds or cardiffs board? There would be a total meltdown. I for one am happy that Jim communicates as much as he does! UTB!

Yes spoken to him - he was very engaging and asked me how I was, what I do for a living etc, and talked about the team for that day etc.

I met him at the Lane per season as the team were off to Leicester. I shook his hand and her spent several minutes chatting with we and he was a thoroughly nice bloke. Can't see many chairman taking that time to speak to supporters like that.

I think he's surprised himself about how he's fallen for us and made an emotional connection he didn't think he'd make initially (which is why we might perceive the enthusiasm from a "newcomer" as seeming contrived).

A mates just txt me asking if I knew ya(high greeners all assume we know each other) where was the party and Jim really turn up?

I find it hard to believe that the amount of love for the club he says he has, can actually be there after only 2 years (?) of even knowing who we are most probably. Could be very wrong though of course.

That said though he personally seems to be a very nice guy.

Hes a very nice guy is Gentleman Jim
Hes helped me out a couple of times including tickets for me and my daughter for the 125 do
Top man one of the best things to happen to United this century

Its the first time going all the way back to Chairman John Hassall , we now have a board and advisors , pulling in the right direction for the football club. Jim Phipps is the face of the club , but credit goes to many others , doing a good job , in the back ground.
