its doubtful that he will be linked now.

Maybe if he was sacked a week ago.

Nigel was probably about two when the family left Middlesbrough. I very much doubt he'll have much interest in commuting or moving up there. I also doubt that he'll be top of Boro's list. Gibson will have already tapped up the successor. Pulis seems to be the early favourite ?

All the momentum is with Clough. Looks like we've been patent and waited for him and I'd be amazed if he wasn't our new manager.

He was born in Sunderland in 1966 when his dad was managing Hartlepools United. His dad left Boro for Sunderland in 1961. I know Blades last game in 1960-61 was the 4-1 win at home against Boro (LSF's first match) so his last game for Boro could have been that match

Couple of Boro fans talking about a desire for Clough.
Really hope we can snap him up soon because I can see Boro snatching him from our grasp.

It looks like Sheff Utd will be announcing the appointment of Nigel Clough in the morning.

Sacked by Boro, this is a manager who I have suggested before for Blades.

Vastly experienced and played good football in the past, notably at West Brom. I would be far happier with him than Nigel Clough.

I realise that he has not been a roaring success at Boro but every situation is different - and people do learn from past mistakes. Same applies to Clough I suppose.

Clough.

Yawn.

I think I'd be over the moon getting Clough if we hadn't experienced Weir.
Delighted when we landed Weir but the experience has left me wary hence feeling that someone like Pulis should be the man.
Not for long ball direct Footie but for the fact that we would be organised and difficultto beat.

Mowbray has achieved nothing in management since 2008 and he's not just failed at Boro.
According to Wikipedia, he's statistically the worst manager in Celtic's history.

Mowbray would be a good choice, speaking with a Hibs fan he rated him, said he brought some good kids in and through. Remember he did well at West Brom, shite at Celtic.

Don't think he had a lot to work with at Boro, seemed to be left a load of crap by strachan
