Didn’t quite understand why so much was made of Mason Mount turning forward instead of back as if it was a God like move in their opening goal.

Then in the same game Fleck drifts past FOUR players Messi-like and it was left to the afterthought comments.

How often does a player beat FOUR opposition players in a single move in a game?

I think the point was the post match video analysts try to offer insight to educate the viewers.

Flecks run was obviously the reason why we scored, highlighting this wouldn’t have educated the listeners.

Whereas the turning point regards creating the Derby goal was the subtle but instant control and clever swivel by Mount.
Might seem underwhelming to casual viewers but the cleverness in opening up space created that goal.

The hysteria surrounding mount and Wilson was pathetic, they are good players but I thought Fleck with the ball was miles better, so underrated imo.

Mount got man of the match, which he was always going to do if it was a draw or Derby win, just to carry on the Lampard/ Mount love in. I have to say I didn't really notice Mount at all apart from the first goal which champagneblade touched on, where he did something that you'd expect most pro footballers to be able to do. Got nothing against Mount or Lampard just find it all a bit tedious and predictable with how the media cream their pants over them constantly. Oh yes, Mount also managed to clear one of the line aswell which helped his MOM illusion. But it's not going to go away so need to get used to it.

Fleck may be underrated by the odd Sky pundit and an endless sequence of Scotland managers but don't let that fool you. We may have to fend off big offers in January.

Flecks is our very own Archie Gemmill. Shame the Scots don't seem to agree.

I think the pundit (was it Don Goodman?) mentioned Fleck not being called up during the commentary. I think we should be able to hold onto him in the JTW if we’re still in the top six, if we promise him that we’ll let him leave in the summer (for the right money) if we don’t go up. Like Fulham did with Sessegnon and Cairney. If we don’t go up though, I think we’ll lose him.

I was too pissed off to listen to the post match stuff but I thought both the pundit and the commentator were fairly knowledgeable about us.

Wow, they should see Brooks if they think he was that impressive. Had minimal impact until we went to a more defensive shape.I think it may have been him who messed that simple ball up for 2-0 after Bash's rick?

Agree about Weaver & Goodman during the match as I think they called it about right, it looks like posters frustration is more directed to Rosenior and Prutton in the studio. Like you I didn't see it as I turned off at full time, but can guess that Prutton didn't go out of his way to praise us too much considering the result. He wasn't too bad at half time, but it was said grudgingly.

Agree re Fleck, if we don't go up he's of to the PL, as is JOC. One or two others may be tempted away to rival champ clubs for big wages, Stevens and Freeman for example.

I listened to the whole lot. Derby fans think Sky were biased in favour of us. On the Derby forum they’ve even accused Rosenior of being a secret SU fan due to his gushing praise.

He kept going on about how impressed he was with us, taking charge after going a goal down.
He talked about the revolutionary attacking tactics having centre backs overlapping in the wings and how Basham, another centre back was so far up field to score the equaliser.

Even post match they were really complementary, bigging up the match, said it was the match of the season in the Championship so far played by 2 very good sides. Rosenior said you can see how and why SU were top and even though they’ve lost the future looks bright and he still expects us to be up there all season.

It is a bit crazy isn't it...that Mount is in the England squad but Fleck can't get in the Scotland squad...
