Another take on the away theme ,got to be Forest for me ,must be at least 20 times now.
Second probably swillsboro, 3rd Sunderland Roker and SOL closely followed by leeds Derby and Hull. We always seemed to be going to Huddersfield and Hull back in the day.

Like wise Sitwell. Must be Forest for me although Boothferry Park and Blundell Park - Grimsby - must run them close. I think we've been drawn away to Grimsby in FA Cup, League Cup, Group Cup - a mid 80s cup - played them in a testimonial and a pre season friendly as well as league games of course.

I think mine must be Oakwell. On two occasions, I got there to find it had been postponed as a kid (FA Cup saga back in the day). Good job it is technically my home town.

Outside Yorkshire, Derby (Baseball Ground and Pride Park) although I've also been to Carrow Road and Turf Moor pretty regularly as well.

Also Forest. Must have been there 6-7 times and don't think I've ever seen us win. Think we've drawn most of them.

probably swillsborough, followed by Barnsley, Huddersfield.

Hows about the different grounds you have visited to see the Blades play the same home team?

I've seen blades play Charlton at, the Old Valley, Selhurst Park, Upton Park and New Valley.

Also Blades v Bradford at, old Valley Parade, Odsall, Elland Road and New Valley Parade.

Swillsboro followed by probably either Madeski, Loftus Road or Selhurst Park

In the 80s and early 90s I always seemed to be going away to Oldham, I dont think we have been since falling out the PL under Bassett

One of the grounds I have been on all 4 sides ;)

We have been to Boundary Park a few times since then mate. The first time after being relegated from the PL was a 3-3 draw, followed by a 2-1 defeat in 95/96 and a 2-0 win in 96/97.

I think my most visited away ground is Derby.

Got to be Forest for me too, the most memorable being a 5-2 win there in '92.

TB.

SoL, never went to Roker park to see the Blades :(

Never seen us even take a point!

Did you also take Wimbledon in at Plough Ln, Selhurst Park etc.

Got to Selhurst at half time when we were 3-0 down to Wimbledon (Mervyn Day in the net). We got stuck at Northampton in traffic. Actually, I used to visit Plough Lane quite a lot as a kid in London.

It was a dump, but I still miss it.

Blundell Park was one that was way out in front for a bit. Now it seems I just get to go to the same grounds over and over again.

That's why tomorrow's a bit of a novelty, not had a new ground in since Leyton Orient over a year ago.

THIS is my current total.

Selhurst Park for me - one of my least favourite grounds, as it happens.

Obviously Hillsborough for me. (I used to worked there!)

But in my youth, when I was living in Sheffield, the big away day for us was Fulham (don't know why, but it was).

The New Valley and New Valley Parade are in the same location as the originals and are the same grounds just re-developed. That's a bit like saying we play at New Bramall Lane because every stand is different from what we had in the 60's.

Most away games for me is Forest. I have 18 programmes from visits to the City Ground with United (first one January 1966) and I have been every time we've played them until the game this week.
I have also been there to see Sheffield Club lose the FA Vase replay and saw Forest/Arsenal in 1978 when the car broke down on our way to see United at Fulham (Alan Woodwards last ever game and we mised it! and Gary Birtles debut for Forest).

I did 11 visits to the Baseball and 5 to Pride Park so Derby is probably second.

sorry sir, just passing 5 mins on a footy forum. Of course you are right, im not splitting hairs, only mentioned these particular grounds because they were completely rebuilt in one big go (and the team moved out in the process).

its not a "bigger blade" attempt - im sure there are 100s of people who have done these grounds also - some probably 2 or 3 times over!

I seem to have frequented Lancashire having sat and thought about this:

Oldham, like a few have mentioned!

Bolton, both grounds!

Preston.

..and the strange one in the bunch is Plymouth. A quick count made about 6 visits there. In fact I've got my programme here at work from 1983 (why you ask? No sodding idea, I reply!)

Waugh
P Smith
Kenworthy
Richardson
West
Houston
Towner
Trusson
Brazil
Morris
Charles
King

..amd I can't remember a thing about it

Bloody hell, all the way to Plymouth and no Edwards.

Can't imagine how that lot lined up "up front". Trusson, supported by Morris and Towner down the wings?

It looks like 4-4-2 with Trusson and Brazil playing up front, but like I said I can't remember a thing about the game. I remember more about the home game that season which we won 3-1.

Where's Darren when you need him?

An interesting footnote to that 1982-3 season is that we played Boston United in the FA Cup that year. We drew the first gamee 1-1 at their place and then won the replay, I think 5-0 or 5-1.

Boston had a certain K Blackwell in goal
