Fleck and Mcburnie for Scotland
Egan, Robinson and Stevens for Ireland
Will Henderson be called up for the England youth squad?
Besic for Bosnia? Personally I can’t think of a time where we’ve had this many apart from possibly in the days of Flo, Kelly, Katchouro, Blake?

Not quite what you're asking, but IIRC we had more players at the 94 World Cup (no Ingerland), than any other Premier team (Kelly / Flo / Nilsen)

When the football sticker books first came out, I'd marvel at how every player who turned out for Liverpool was an international and even the poorest first division sides had 4 or 5 international. Then I'd scrabble about in football annuals and other books trying to find that Woodward had an England B cap and Mick Speight had played for the under 21 team once.
Off topic I know but you triggered a memory.

We’ve had plenty of internationals in the past.
However I think this is different because almost all our players will be starters, instead of back up squad players sat on the bench.

Similar with Len Badger. Played at every level for England except the full international.
Silent will help out,. Did him and Woody play for a league representative side?

We have fielded 10 England internationals in the dim and distant past.
From the net:
"Sheffield United hold the record as the only club to have the distinction of fielding 10 England internationals at the same time in the season of 1903/04. They didn’t just achieve this in one league game but in a total of eight games over the course of the season."

Henderson is too old for the England U21 Squad now and the error against Liverpool with Southgate in the stand may delay his introduction into the senior England team until the round of fixtures after the next one.

O'Connell had a good game against one of the best players in the world on Saturday though.

I don't think either of them did mate, Woody got called up for England B but before he could play, he left Lane and went to America (bit of controversy).

What I'd give for a World Cup winner at the Lane. I know we had Martin Peters but he was well past his best by 1980.

Who knows, maybe Moose will be called up for France one day.
Do you mind not mentioning that blokes name in my company please:rolleyes:, he was as useful to us as a ashtray on a motorbike, total knob.

JOC and Lunny for England.

Come of Gareth, do the right thing. Mings can coco and Maddison is injured.

Woody wearing number 7 in below video. His corner led to our penalty award

The rules used to allow for up to three outfield players to be over 21 plus the goalkeeper. Unless these rules have changed, Henderson could still feature for the under 21s.

I read the Woody one wrong I was thinking full internationals which he never got called up for, got chose England B as I said but didn't play as left Lane and went America after scandal that much I DO remember.

I have a vague memory of going with my Dad to watch Woody when he played for the English League at Maine Road?

I vaguely recall these Football League games, but they only picked English players didn’t they? So was it a kind of England reserves?

My Mum has confirmed the game was at Maine Road on 20 March 1974, my 9th birthday. Her diary did not sadly provide the line up or score.

Could it have been Barnsley? Both of Woodward’s outings for the Football League ended in victory over the League of Ireland – in September 1969 at Barnsley and two years on in Dublin – but they were scant consolation for the absence of caps which so incensed his home supporters.

Trying to wrack my brain here but I remember going to the Lane one midweek night in the 70’s for an England B / U23 match (I think it was ?) The reason being that there was at least 1 Blades player in the squad - could have been Speight / Stainrod / or Andy Keeley ?? Would it have been v Spain ?

Someone please confirm the match (Silent ?) and which UTD player was involved. My memory is terrible these days !
