As the title suggests, which was the most complete or dominant performance of the season?

Personally (and given that i didn't see every game) i think the Bradford City home game was the game where we really showed the quality throughout the side. A decent opposition, matching us footballing wise earlier in the season at Valley Parade, i felt that we completely dictated the pace of the game, dominated the play and were completely professional and clinical.

The significance of the fact that Bradford City were also not far behind us and we looked a division apart should also not be overlooked.

So which other games come close to this one? Bolton at home or another game?

Agree, Swiss. That first half at home to Bradford was as good as I've seen at the Lane in many a year. We destroyed them both football- and morale-wise. I expected them to come out in the second half and have a real go, but we didn't let them. Bolton too but, towards the end of the season we were lining up 'the contenders' and sending them away well beaten. It's worth a quick look at how good we were last season. Just 2 defeats since 29th November (fucking Walsall at home 0-1). Just three defeats since 20th August 2016!!! 92 goals scored. GD: + 45 and 100 points.

Obviously 2017-18 won't go as smoothly but let's forgive the odd hiccup in the Championship. We're back where we belong!

The shame is too much. I must now commit Hari Kari

It's even worse than you thought as you don't need the capital letters in the middle of the sentence. It isn't the name of some Japanese bloke and hence lower case is correct.

You are making a right mess of this and if i was you, I'd call myself a thick twat again to make it right.

Port Vale at home. 4 disallowed goals!
This. Port Vale were actually 4th at the time and this match was being talked about as a test of our credentials. We'd scraped a draw v Fleetwood previously and I recall being fairly cautious. What followed was the equivalent of Tyson v Scougall. An utter pummelling.

It's a very easy answer really, not even open to opinion.
Some people have mentiond Bradford, Bolton, Millwall or Wimbledon

But there is 1 match where the opposition rarely got in our half, never mind had a shot.
I've checked the BBC stats and they don't seem accurate, surely we had more than 58% possession and 17 shots with 8 on target?

It's one of the most one sides and convincing displays I've ever seen us play in 30 years.
Blades 4 Port Vale 0 with 4 goals disallowed.
We closed them down and totally suffocated them for the full 90 minutes
Can still remember Done up front sprinting like a madman and chasing down the ball in the 80th minute.

Other amazingly dominant displays where the oppostion rarely got in our half
were the Shrewsbury and Bury home matches
But they were due to us having 11 men and them having 9 men.
The matches became a farce as both teams just put everyone in defence. Attack v defense.

Bolton at home for me. Cocky lancs version of the pigs mouthing off about how they were going to catch us, Madine trying to bait Billy on twitter, and we just bossed them. That was the day I KNEW we were going up as champions.

Coventry away deserves a mention for the mental strength shown.

Played well for the first 20 minutes then it went downhill.
Thought that was one of our worse performances of the season
And Wilder even admitted the atmosphere/ whistling etc made it difficult to perform.

Although I agree the team showed tremendous focus in the last 5 minutes when Sharp scored.

Of course it's open to opinion. For example, some might think our destruction of Bradford was a more complete performance because we were playing a top six team, not one that ended up getting relegated.

Didn't see every match, but from the last 2-3 months (from Peterborough away onwards) the Bradford match was the most dominant performance I saw - however at the point all the pressure was off.

From the games where it actually meant something, I'd have to say either Bolton or Millwall - both teams who came up with us remember - neither remotely looked like troubling us.

In fact I remember watching the Millwall game and I wasn't actually surprised when we scored - I just knew we would eventually and it was simply a matter of when. That's a feeling I haven`t had watching Utd for a very long time...

Moment of the season - Flecks winner against Northampton - not a great performance, and other result meant we were up anyway - but the fact we scored and made everything else irrelevant was just so un-United like.

First half we edged it, in fairness they did a good job denying us space and closing us down
But like many team they were knackered in the 2nd half and couldn't keep up their pressing game
We then went on to dominate and give them a lesson in football showing our obvious superiority.

Thought the 1st half against Scunthorpe was contender for best 45 minutes display.
Normally we're nervous playing a big match against a rival but we totally blew them away in the first half.
Could and should have been at least 3-0 at half time instead of 0-0.

I realise that now, there are several factors that can have an affect.

Some have said Millwall at home but I didn't think we were that good that night.
For me it looked like Millwall were on the beach for the first 75 minutes, they didn't seem interested.
It was only the final 10 minutes when they finally showed some effort and probably deserved to pull a goal goal back.

yep, good post swiss.

There were many games where we could have buckled under the "expectation", especially in the 2nd half of the season when a few on here kept expecting us to fold.

We destroyed Port Vale early on.
Kept at it v Bury and Northamption at the Lane.
Were very professional v Bolton and Millwall at home.
Were clinical and persistent in many, many away games starting at Fleetwood.

Will agree (just) with Bradford at home. Missed it live, but watched it on sky in a pub in London. We looked awesome even on the small screen.

And sometimes it's hard to tell if the opposition is crap or if it's because we're just so good we're stopping them from playing their game.

that's a good call - in most games I saw we were just relentless from start to finish - especially away from home. They weren't crap, we were just too good - that's why we got 100 points.

I think in games like Bradford, we were that much better. It really stood out. No disrespect to Bradford as I thought they were a good side footballing side, but compared to United I have to say they were so far off the pace.

I get the impression, from games like Tyler Durden mentioned, we were on it consistently in those games too.

Not going to argue with that. We destroyed them.

Easily Bradford. They were in with a chance of automatic at the time and we completed ripped them apart in first 30 mins. One of the best performances for a number of years imo.
