Most annoyed after winning a game?

That 4-4 draw at Walsall many years ago still aggravates, we managed to go 4-3 up in injury time only to concede within seconds.

I'll probably go for the 5-4 win v Brighton in 1989. We went top of Division 2 thanks to a last minute John Francis goal but I was annoyed that we'd thrown away a 3-0 lead to go 4-3 down at one stage.

In my opinion the game started going south when mousset was substituted, the manager has come out today and said he was going to bring Brewster on but had to change plan when Barnsley started their come back, this doesn't hold water because at 3 nil he should have made the change then but he waited until it was 3 2 before bringing on bash, pace is what killed Barnsley but yet he brought on sharp, he should have swapped mousset for Brewster if that was his plan
Youth is the equivalent of being 3-0 up and cruising at Barnsley. The onset of old age is the equivalent of bringing Sharp and Didsy on in place of Mousse and Ndiaye. Old age is being pegged back to 3-2 but in the game of life, you never get to score again and put the match to bed. All you can do is try to keep it by the corner flag but you know the outcome is inevitable. Injury time goes on and on and on until they equalise with the last kick and the referee's whistle sends you on your weary way. 😵

Being 3-0 against the pigs under the Hoofy clown at half time. Dreaming of never having to hear the words Boxing Day ever again because we were going to bury it forever.

I always thought 3-0 at half time that night was slightly flattering. Every chance, or half chance we got in the first half seemed to end up in the back of the net.

The one I was always seething about was the 2-1 win at the sty in 06. We could and should have had 5, 6, 7 that day. Akinshitebuyi missed a hat-trick of easy chances. Any of the early 2000 games at il Stadio du Rustio, the league cup defeat, the 0-0, the 0-2 defeat, in any of those we should easily have had 5. Virtually all the games under Colin at Hillsborough the pigs got out of jail.

Pressman used to have a blinder against us every time.

I remember going to a 3-2 win at Crewe about 15 years ago, a night match, we went 3 up in the first half and somehow nearly threw it away at the end.

That first half yesterday was one of the worst halves of football I remember seeing. Absolute garbage from both sides. 3 up and we didn't play well. They're toilet as well.

A win is a win. But the performance was all over the place.

At least Slav admitted it

We really should have run out winners by 4 or 5-0 Barnsley had fell apart no better time to put Brewster on to see if we can get him going yet we put the slow OAP's on which lets them get 10 yards further up the pitch and put some pressure on us and we all know what happens when our midfield and defence get pressed.

Just searched on Soccerbase and it was Reading at home in 2010. The side we put out brings back lovely memories of passion and limited footballers with a clogger mentality.

Ahh, my good friend Soccerbase. So, the Blackpool 3-0 was two months later than Reading and featured a double of Richard Cresswell "specials".
I do remember the Reading game though as the Fortune goal was "assisted" by Monty with a hopeful lob into the box that the centre back manged to control on his thy and volley into the net. Some made it sound like he'd laid it on a plate for him!

the kop concourse was electric that evening, non stop singing through the whole of the half time break

only other time which has come remotely close was half time for the 2-0 vs ipswich when we went up

A couple that have mentioned on other threads recently.
We beat Fulham 2-1 and Carlisle 1-0 around New Year in the 1985-86 season and our fans booed the team during and after both games!

It was a few months before the end of Porterfield's tenure that became quite toxic.

Yesterday has to be a strong contender

I actually felt bad for Pompey and the fans we deserved nothing from yesterday's game and how Murphy was allowed to take the Mick out of Clarke for 90 plus minutes was painful no way that lad should have been on the loosing side. Thems the breaks I suppose.

Can anyone remember a game we had soo many chances and lost similar to yesterday?

WBA away in the Covid season. I think we set a record for Xg by a team who failed to score.

It's a similar question- what was our most undeserved win?

Yesterday has as to be up there as well
