Point proved

Didn't say you did mate, I was just asking the question. Most Wednesday fans who've been crowing about it today have claimed the one on Naughton was nothing like it and shouldn't have been a card at all.... after all, it didn't even hurt him.

Fair play mate.

Nope, i entirely agree, Johnson should have been sent off.

Davey on SSN earlier said that Hume had received an elbow earlier on in the game that had gone unnoticed - who's to say that this elbow was the one that caused the damage, and the bump he received from Morgan just made it worse?

Why did the Barnsley medical team allow him to go home without a thorough check-up? He was rolling around on the floor in agony, so surely they'll have done a full check? Does cheek not count as a head injury?

And thanks to SSN, who have done nothing but show incidents including Morgan, making him out to look nothing but a thug.

I don't think it was intentional, then on the other hand, why did Hume lunge forward with his head whilst Morgs was already stood there? If it was intentional, surely Morgan would have thrusted his elbow to the side.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if it was Hume on Morgan I'd be calling Hume every name under the sun & probably saying same as Barnsley fans are saying about Morgan, even if I didn't think it was that bad! (That's what the crowd generally do - try to get the opposition player in as much trouble as possible - we've all shouted for hand ball before even when it's not been)!!

It will be interesting to see what happens, but I do seriously think that the Barnsley medical team should be looking at their assessment team. I know concussion can take time to "come out", as does shock, but a fractured skull - how the hell did that go unnoticed? I that was someone discharged from A&E & sent home there would be an outcry!

Walker this morning seemed to imply that Morgan did it intentional.

Only Morgan knows if he did.

It looks bad on the slow motions......but so does every foul.

I never heard any moaning from anyone until he was in hospital.

The management at Barnsley were complaining about the ref........why if this was such an issue at the time of incident????????????????????

The media circus is vile in cases such as this.

Ban Radio Sheffield from our matches I say!

Davey is now on the news saying he's worried that the press are making light of it.

What are they supposed to have done? burnt Morgan as a witch this morning?

because all they've done all day long is slate the bloke and do their utmost to discredit him and his career.

It's at the 30th "Official Statement" you have to seriously ask yourself... Has it more to do with the Howard fallout and result than the poor bugger who's copped for a stay in the MRSA centre?

Is the bloke taking the piss or what.

Making light of it? Has he read the press today or is he too busy listening to the voices in his head.

Come on then everyone lets get that fire going and that stake up.

Why do i get the feeling this is all a media Witch hunt??? Morgan was punished with what the ref deemed was right. Why is it Morgans fault that the Barnsley medical team are incompetant??? If i was Hume, i'd be looking to sue them & not Morgan.

I'd be interested to hear theories on how it's possible for an elbow - a bony point - to both fracture a skull and break a cheekbone in one go.

Technically, your cheek bone is part of your skull.

Broken cheekbone = fractured skull.

Only one sounds worse than the other ;)

I did wonder if that was the case.

Sensationalism, pure and simple. No one ever said that Steven Davies at Derby had a 'fractured skull' when someone broke his cheekbone.

And that's not to detract from the tragedy of the injury - I wouldn't wish any injury on any player - but it saddens me further if Davey and BFC are making the injury sound worse than it is just to further their cause.

With the exception of gareth ainsworth.

if morgans elbow hit hume on the temple its always going to be bad as its a sensitive part. Morgan has his eye on the ball all the time so to say he intentionally went out to hurt him is tosh. Did he make hume put his head into it with mind power?

Football heaven is awful. Amount of times they cut people off that they dont see eye to eye with is beyond a joke. Ban them from association with us!

They've now contacted Maurice Watkins (yes, the same one now working for West Ham) with an interest in a legal case before even asking Hume's wishes.

LOL what a complete joke! If anything screams Show me the money more than this i'd like to see it! They'll never be able to proove intent in a court so there wasting there time!

They'll never be able to prove intent in a court so there wasting there time!

For a civil case (i.e. money grabbing), they'd have to prove that there was "more likely than not" intent.

With the evidence, they'd have a very tough time satisfying this requirement.

I don't think there was this bad a reaction when Petr Cech had his skull fractured a few years back and that was far worse than what happened to Hume.

Ha ha ha, what a set of pricks.

Did any civil action get taken against Roy Keane after he wrote in his book that he did intentionally go out to break Inge Harlands leg!

Did anything get done about Hunts knee to Cechs head?

Talk about sour grapes.

I hope Hume comes out and says "Its was an accident".

Make Davey look like a right bell end.

I've really pissed them off with this now. 29 comments and rising.....

To those of you who can't be arsed reading them, it's basically 28 separate people slagging Morgan and/or me off. One bloke did it twice! Just because I defended our player.

Still, it's the best response I've had to any article so far, and if it gets me the monthly Champagne then they can slag me all they want....

I just posted a comment SV

me too.

Some utter tits on there think you can get good clearance on a ball with your arms by your side like a penguin.

No, not even him. I despise him, but I wouldn't drag myself down to his level.

I can't in all good conscience wish injury on anyone.

I have to disagree again with you there mate.

He really deserved something bad happening to him, even if it lowered me to his level.

Probably the worst tackle iv seen.

Don't know if this has already been posted but today's Star says the FA have requested a video of the math from Barnsley.
