More wins than the 1970-71 season!

We won 21 out of 42 games during my favourite promotion season. After 33 games we have already won 22 times this season!

If we only win half our remaining games we'll have 88/91 points.
It does feel like it's going to take 95/100 just to be in the top two this season.

It is impossible to compare with this season. because the game has changed so much. To be honest, though the current team is great. However, none of the current teams would get into the 1970-71 team.

If Burnley figure out how to score, 100 points might only be good enough for 3rd. Nuts.

I was just starting watching us then and I’d actually say that Cooper is a much better keeper than John Hope who was our keeper after Xmas that season. ( he controversially replaced Alan Hodgkinson for those of a certain age who remember)

John Hope was good for us in the promotion season, unfortunately after the pasting West Ham gave us in the league cup. He was replaced soon after that.

I have a good excuse I moved to Australia A data after we beat Everton 1-0 away, no internet or mobile phones back then. so I was never up to date then. got the green uns and programmes but three months later. each time I got them.
