We lost 3-1 but what a goal by Woody. TC's goal was disallowed as he didnt realise that the ref had indicated an indirect free kick. John Harris' last game as our manager. First time I have seen the footage since I saw it at my boarding school (our compulsory Sunday Walk was cancelled because of heavy rain)

She has just come in from the Gym, her who still has a Sabella Scarf, showed her the footage, big grin on her face, then she sez, can you remember going to that Cricket Match and Sabella was there ?

Funiest thing, I can remember it, Dronfield I think, thats been tucked away somewhere for 30 years

Seems incredible that this is 40 years ago now.

Think this game was the first time I'd seen United live on TV, a regional Yorkshire TV game shown on a Sunday.
Had a United game ever been shown live before?

Some good memories of that day ..went a few times to Maine Rd in that era ..could get a bit moody on the side streets around the ground

One of the first away matches I took myself to without Dad (he couldn't be arsed) so jumped in the car, made my way there and paid cash on the door.
The fact that I couldn't remember where I'd parked the car (as all the side streets looked the same) would have probably worried me more if I'd realised I was close to, if not in the middle of Moss Side.
It wasn't until much of the traffic had cleared that my car "appeared", it's not as if it really blended in ....
