Can't fault the effort tonight but we're still going to need a quality loanee to chip in with the odd goal and create chances.
It's likely to be a wide player as Yeates appears to have gone to pieces.
Fail to strengthen and expect more games like tonight and relegation.
Special praise to the Montster, particularly first half, outstanding stuff.

Has your login been hijacked!? All fair points Len. Agree even though I only had the benefit of comms!

We need more players, but also more luck and a half decent official now and again.

if it wasnt for bad luck we would have no luck at all. Agree totally with len and I havent even had a drink, well not too mucuh anyway

You make your own luck!

Its a cliche and I wasn't there to see it tonight, but would that bit of extra quality add goals? certainly sounded like it.

Collins will come in next game, but Mattock sounds fecked, so we need a bit more back up, but most of all creativity!

I saw on the shout box that Foxy said to start Ched and Boggy. Would it work? Too soon to drop Bent? I'd like to see Bent get his fitness and him and Ched given a run of 2-3 games to get a proper link

Think this is the most frustrated I've seen you tonight Foxy

It's been an incredibly frustrating season. What is the most frustrating is you can predict events before the match that'll happen every week...

Opposition score with their first/only chance (it wasn't the only one today, but they were pretty rare), we'll have a load of possession and spend plenty of time attacking.

We'll hit the woodwork, be denied penalties, have one cleared off the line and the odd class save.

The official will be totally inconsistant to United's detriment. Every bounce will land at the oppositions feet. We'll have at least one injury.

Mark Yeates might get on the pitch to either run into the defender instead of crossing to the waiting masses who've already got fed up of making runs or alternatively slice the odd corner out for a goal kick.

All of those are cracking excuses and happen weekly, but it's up to us to fight through them and make sure we get results anyway.

Don't normally disagree with you Len but Monty gave the ball away just before their goal and his second half performance was embarrassingly poor. How people can make out an arguement for his continued inclusion is beyond me.

It doesn't look good for Mattock - but if the game and a half \I've seen of him are anything to go by, his loss will be our gain. He's looked totally inept. He can't be that bad so maybe it's lack of football or nerves, but either way he doesn't look good for us right now.

Why can't Yeates deliver a ball first time? Ever? Monty's ability to whip a ball in from wide is light years ahead of our most creative player's.

Bonkers.

Stick Monty on the wing then! Get some chalk on your boots Monty lad!

Un fuckin believable.

Monty was outstanding tonight and certainly put some bloke brought in from Coventry in the shade.
As for Mattock, sad though his injury is for him, he'd already shown enough to suggest he wasn't good enough.
As for the luck and refereeing stuff, yes we had bad luck and yes the ref was poor.
But that little bit more quality would make both redundant in future.
Interesting times for McCabe. Fail to bring that quality in and he's going to lose a lot more money in three months time.

You mean play RU rules and hope the ref isn't counting that we've got 15 players on the pitch?

Agree with all you say tonight Len ,a bit harsh on Doyle though ,Monty and Doyle owned the midfield before he went off and gave our more 'gifted' players more time and space ,however we didn't look the same after he went off. I would have taken Cresswell off and kept the midfield.

I'm left more frustrated from tonight by the fact that I thought we were by far the better team. We looked like a team of headless chickens who were unable to pick out team mate at times, but Leicester were equally bad (if not worse). I can't put my finger on why we didn't come out on top, for every time I try and convince myself we were the better team I can pick out many moments when we shot ourselves in the foot. But then I look back at the near misses and the piss-poor referee and feel that we were good enough for at least a point. If it was a one off I would say that we were unlucky and it was "one of those days/nights" but honestly... how many more of these days and nights can we have?

On the plus side... I just found out the Wednesday scoreline, I thought they'd won 3-2.

Maybe slightly harsh on Doyle as the midfield was dominant with him in it, though Monty clearly took the eye.
The subs did make us weaker though losing Bent's ability in the air also affected us.
Don't know what's happened to Cresswell. Seems half the player he was and having little impact.

We've seen it time after time for years Len. He did enough to earn his contract last season & has retreated into his comfort zone, a lucrative end to his career assured. He was a revelation last season, I am disgusted with him this time around. I agree with you, we were stupid offering him the length of contract that we did.

He's only 33. A 3 year contract made perfect sense. There's loads of 36 year old wingers tearing this division apart. Wibble.

Desperately need a genuine wide player.

Whilst there wasn't a lot of great football on show last night, we were utterly dominant and created plenty of chances.

I was impressed with Lowry for the second game running, very dominant in the air. Evans was superb without the support he deserved from those around him, it was a shame the chances all fell to other players although his willingness to work hard took him out of the box too much.

I thought Parrino did well although he doesn't do enough to stop wingers getting crosses in at times. Agree with Len that Monty had a good game. Don't like seeing Williamson wide right but I thought he did better tonight than he has on previous occasions when he's played there.

Mattock looked awful again before his injury, Cresswell was totally anonymous and I didn't think Bent lived up to his first half hour v Norwich. Yeates' set pieces when he came on were nothing short of disgraceful.

Not sure how we fit him in but Bogdanovic has been unlucky not to get more time on the pitch in my opinion.
