Sorry I'm late. I've been having therapy. It wasn't a good pass at all; It was an excellent pass demonstrating remarkable technique. Well done Monty.
That said, if Willo or K-Mac had played it, would anyone have been so moved as to start a separate thread? It's the sheer eye-rubbing, head-scratching 'did that really happen?' factor isn't it? Many of you would say he's not expected to do that - It's not his job - If he could pass he'd not be playing for us etc. So to that extent you are trying to have your cake and eat it, aren't you.
I haven't imploded. I couldn't go last night but I've seen the goals and I'm absolutely delighted. Can't get carried away on one performance but Phillips and Clarke's contributions were not far short of amazing, given their lack of match sharpness and limited time with their team-mates. For all you fans of the dear departed bench-warmer 'Cotts' - thats a proper winger for you - taste the difference! Lee Williamson - two games in three days for old glasslegs eh? Two outstanding performances to boot. I'd have thought we might want to reflect on such matters?
I don't lambast any of our players on matchdays. That's not support. This forum is an extension of the taproom and I treat it as such.
Monty is a model of commitment, tenacity and fitness. He is admirable for all the reasons Brownie gives. But for all that he is just not a good footballer. I really wish he was.
I really think last night might just be the most significant result of the season. Well done Danny. Well done (I suspect) Billy Dearden. Remarkably well done Matt and Billy [Go on lads, you know you want to, don't you!?]. And yes, Well done Mo......Aaaaaaaaagh No I can't.......I can't........I can't........
[Addendum - Don't worry about Pinchy, we've just sedated him]
