On my recent visit to Croatia I have now converted our Croatian waiter in the hotel into a Blade. He is now a full convert having recited the Greasy Chip Butty ( which needed to be explained which he also plays on his car radio) and has omitted the W word from his calendar and now, quite correctly,. refers to it as the day after Tuesday. Below are the before and after pics.

Good job. I head to the USA frequently for work and have converted a few colleagues. I am heading off again tomorrow and have a new shirt packed, this is my cultural gift 😂.

I love it when I get on a teams call and one of the yanks is wearing some form of Blades paraphernalia! It winds the resident forest fan up no end.

Take the label off and put it on a bottle of Worcestershire sauce, you'll have more success.

I’ve successfully introduced hendo’s into several ambulance stations in East Sussex…. To the extent that catering sized bottles are now ordered to ensure that we have ready supply

When I was at cricket earlier this summer one of the lads I sit with brought a pal who’s not from Sheffield but lives in northern Italy. I was introduced to him as a fellow Blade and found out there were a group of them who regularly watch United on tv in a local bar. The English bloke was introduced to The Blades by another mate and now comes to matches at The Lane when possible and has converted some of the locals.
As he left the game he sang GCB to me in full, in Italian just as they do in his local Italian bar.

Update on the Ambassadorial duties.

Did a tour of USS Midway wearing the stripes and got into several conversations with Americans including a yank Liverpool supporter. Ended up doing the tour of the bridge and talking to a French Guy wearing an AC Milan top. I was sat having coffee this morning and he ran past and hollered "hey Sheffield United"😄

Whilst out for a run this morning this young woman running the other way waved me down. I paused the Tufty Club pod I was listening to and she asked do you support Sheffield United?

She lives in San Diego and turns out her husband is a Blade. He is currently back in the UK and gutted because he was going to the Rovrum game. Don't know if he lurks on here, but if he does, hello!

Finally stopped for coffee and a croissant 🥐 at the end of the run and talked to a couple from London had a good chat about the world and the Blades.

I may have met one of these guys a few years ago at the Lane. Sat next to a couple of them, English but retired to Italy, no connections to Sheffield but converted to the Blades by a sadly deceased supporter from their village. Strange little story. Think it may have been a home defeat against Yeovil ?
