Missing a captain

We have been captainless on the pitch for years and while Billy is clearly a good lad he's not the kind to rally the troops on the pitch (when he's on) or to bang a few heads together.

Didn't matter so much under Wilder when it wad good as they were all expected to follow strict instructions or be shouted at from the sidelines but when the wheels fell off there was nothing there.

Slav's approach is more free-flowing (that's the theory anyway) so much greater emphasis on having a strong personality organising in the middle.

Bringing someone like that in has to be at the top of the list.

I've said it many times before, the whole team is very quiet but particularly the defence. I want defenders to be screaming for the ball as they make a challenge, particularly in the air, it makes the forward think that they are about to get clattered, even if they aren't.
