I was just climbing the steps at the back of the Kop as GCB was starting, thought I'd quickly nip to the bog, sure enough 1-0.

I think I've been late in about three times, once against Arsenal in the Premiership and Brian Deane scored and a Burnley away night match, when I got in with ten minutes to go, which doesn't really count.

I think I may have stumbled upon a winning formula, I'll be taking my seat at 1220 on Saturday. Did anyone else miss it?

Feel sorry for your miss 1889 but lmfao at all those who consistently come in a couple of minutes late each half and leave a few minutes early at half and full time to beat the queues at the bar and traffic causing all the row to stand up. :D

Yep, have to admit that for the first time in over a season I missed the first couple of minutes. Like you, I'm now thinking of arriving 5 minutes late for every game :)

Despite us going 1-0 up after a minute, I thought we were awful passing it backwards and missed the next 89 minutes.

Rochdale away a few year ago I think I missed two or even three goals by the time if got in.

On New Years Day 1955 my dad arrived late for the Blades v Newcastle match. From outside the ground he did hear the crowd cheering and he assumed that one of the teams were leading by one goal. As soon he entered the ground (he usually stood at the Lane End) he asked a spectator for the score. "4-0 to United" was the reply. My dad told him to "get lost" so he asked a different spectator and the reply was still "4-0 to United", he tried one more spectator in a different area before realising that he actually had missed all the 4 goals that were scored in the first 8 minutes! Final score was 6-2 to us

Never leave the pub until at least 3:15 on a Saturday 3pm kick off.

I've missed hundreds of goals over the years.

Stoke at home under Robson. Got there just as they went 2-0 up and moments later it was 3. Wish I'd stayed at home that night

I guess lots of booing ensued from the kop after we sat back and allowed them to score twice?

When we played Newcastle at St James Park in 1989 we were kept in a holding area away from the ground by the fuzz until about 2.45 (our coach arrived about 1.30). Then when we got to the ground there were only 2 turnstiles open and most people were late in. We missed the first 20 minutes and were 1-0 down when we got in. We went on to lose 2-0 and I am firmly of the belief that our lack of fans at the beginning of the match was a contributory factor to us going 1-0 down and consequently losing the game. :D

I missed the Jermain Jenas goal against Spurs at home in our Premiership season . Walked up the stairs and was greeted by "Blades 0-1 Spurs" on the scoreboard. I also missed the goal that relegated us that same season. Went for a piss just before the pen was given. I've still never actually seen it so in my mind we stayed up that season

Many years ago went to Blackburn and arrived a few minutes late

just as we were getting in on their kop a huge cheer went up and we

thought fuck they've scored until that is we got in and realised there were

that many blades on the kop it was us that had scored, woody I think and

if I remember rightly we won 1-3, police sopped us on way hope because

my brothers car was a bit dodgy but got home and watched us as the main

match on match of the day, seems like yesterday great memories

I was also late to Grimsby away in the triple assault season and walked in just in time to see Rob Kozluk lashing home the 3rd in a 4-1 from about 30 yards.

Would that be in November 1970? I missed the first half too and it was TC who opened the scoring (missed that too). Blackburn equalised with a soft goal that Hodgy should have stopped. Dave Powell restored our lead with a penalty and then Dearden made it 3-1

September 1973. Night match Blades at home to Arsenal. I'd inadvertently booked a driving lesson finishing at 7.45pm. Those days it was 7.30pm kick offs. I arranged to be dropped off at the ground but by time I got in we were already winning 3-0.

Final score 5-0. Glad to say I saw TC sitting on the ball.

I missed the whole game because I was at boarding school in Berkshire. Grrrr!
