Good move for him that one I think. Should get some solid experience at EFL level.

Yep, think this is clearly the one position where the youth have the biggest gap in quality compared to the first team, this looks like it should be a solid step up so gl to him

Think next season he can play a part for us. Good luck to the lad. Get some game time and progress.

Surely this can’t be announced yet he’s still got 25 medical to do that’s the normal process isn’t it?

Good move for him and it doesn't leave the development team short as we've got a lot of good players in this position coming through the ranks, many who look nearly as competent as Freckleton but are younger.

Hows he done there? I see he's played 14 times there this season.

Roygbiv is your man.

He hasn't played for us this season so he can still go out on loan again, if he's in the squad/bench against Watford or Cardiff, he'll be staying.

If he's not in the squad for either of those games, he'll be out on loan again/or sold.

Well that gives me hope 😂 😂

He wasn’t even good at Chesterfield last season so we’re desperate for bodies if he’s coming back to be in the squad.

Just to clarify a few points regarding Curtis and Peterborough.
1.He started well enough at right back but then picked from then on at left back.
2. Peterborough are not going well and Ferguson is struggling to pick a backline that works. With a few injuries he has a very young defence with little experience.
3. According to some comments on their forum and some articles in local papers. Ferguson has no faith in any of his fullbacks including those on the bench. Both fullbacks are getting taken off in games.

Based on that I wouldn't be overly negative about Curtis. He is 19 and played 65 or so times for St Pats in the Irish top division. He has got something about him and will continue to develop. The problem for Curtis is that next season we hopefully will be in the PL that means he should be going back out on loan but needs to be carefull on what club based on playing time and the trajectory of the club.

With the odd exception (Arblaster), our placing of kids on loan has been poor for years now. Epitomised by the laughable Seriki and Buyabi loans last season. In fact, Seriki to Beerschot is up there will negligence.

Why is it our fault if they struggle?

He was good at Chesterfield, Swindon is a step up. He hasn’t been great. That’s all there is to it.

Because we need to place them with the right clubs. It won't always work out, but there have been a number of unsuccessful loan spells where it quite obviously was the wrong fit.

It’s the experience they get but if they are dropped for not performing well enough that is still experience and a learning curve for them.

Some players will learn that just because you are on the books at SUFC you can’t just assume you will be guaranteed a starting place on loan at a Chesterfield or a Swindon.

I know he is our player but people keep banging on about Andre Brooks not playing lately but if he isn’t there mentally or showing enough training then why does he deserve to play ahead of someone else?

He's had a horrible time over the last few months. Can't imagine what it's like when you're 21, you finally make it as a professional footballer, but find yourself in a position where you're on loan away from home with a manager that has openly said he doesn't want you, your club doesn't want you back, and no other club has come in for you. But fair play to the lad as he appears to have responded in the best way possible 👏
