need our midfield to chip in with more goals to compete in the play offs so tonight a step in the right direction with Stearman and Lundstram coming up with the goods

The longer hes in the team the more we get from Lundstram ,good squad member need that strength to stay in championship games

good win as all wins are, can only in our games and let the other combatants take points off each other

Pleased for Lunny to get the goal tonight but not his best performance for us. He really needs to have the confidence to move forward with the ball at his feet or play some snappy one-twos and get us further up the pitch. He's neat and tidy and I know he has it in him to be more dynamic in his play but it's still too much sideways and backwards.

It’s almost as if players need a bit of time to find their feet and settle in. Funny that.

NB. Not a dig at you BTL. Just quoting the comment.

A quality of Lunny is arriving late into the box or just hanging back a bit. He's scored three times now from such positions. Well done to the lad today, some of his touches to take him away from opposing players was brilliant and it's this that he needs to get more confident at doing if he wants to be a regular.

Lundstram was excellent again.

I would love to know how many games he’s started at home and how many of them he’s won man of the match in.

Lundstram needs games as I feel he has the ability to be very good, he just seems to lack the confidence to trust himself at times and then makes sloppy mistakes. Plenty of times I was hoping he would drive on with the ball rather than pinging it 40 yards (most of which were pretty accurate last night to be fair) as I have seen at times he can get past a man.

It's a shame he wasn't with us last year as I think he really would be a major player if he'd had that promotion charge and experience of controlling games regularly.

Certainly a player who can only get better in my opinion.

I’d like to see Fleck get forward more, like Lundtram last night. Lunny could have had a few last night with the positions he was getting into

I think he has every single attribute to be a top player, scored one and was denied another by a great save in the first half. My issue with his he will play 10 great forward balls and then do something really sloppy and have a bad 5 minutes.

For me he has the ability to go all the way but will he cut out his mistakes. It showed at Derby away he could be a key player for us.

It’s for CW and AK to iron out his problems and go from there.

He can be great with the ball but is awful without it.

Not sure I agree with that he puts his foot in same as anyone. Evans is more of the sitting midfielder though. But I suppose they all have something they need to improve on. But at a club like ours with the staff that we have if we cannot improve them then they cannot be improved.

I think part of the problem with our midfielders not scoring is the style of football we play. Instead of Basham (and his two left feet - sometimes looks like hes got 3 feet) sprinting forward it should be our midfield. Every time he runs forward, one of our midfield need to cover.

Also, if Lunny hadnt of scored...people would be saying he had a terrible game. I find him one of the more frustrating players to watch. I know hes young, but i dont think he is ready to start in our midfield.

I thinks he's improved in the relatively short time since he joined United. IMHO it took him a while to get used to the step-up to the Championship but he's looking better the more he plays.

Even though he looks leaner and fitter, I still feel he's missing a yard of pace and hits too many cross-field Hollywood balls that often go astray.

I think that would just be you. He had an excellent attempt saved and played very well. If you thought he had a terrible game then I despair.

Lundstrams biggest drawback is he isnt Coutts, something he cant do anything about , Hes come in and is adapting to playing at a higher level and improving every time he plays, he only ever plays back when he gets the ball facing that way , which is what they are taught the majority of his passes are forward , yes sideways but thats us switching the play from left to right
