Mid week matches in PL

Anyone else noticed on fixtures that there's only two Tuesday midweek matches? Im guessing alot go midweek if you have a cup run etc but I'd thought more..

Less fixtures than the Championship, thus less midweek games.

I know but still always seems like a weekend thing with the PL. Its only 8 games less and two midweek games doesn't seem alot at all.

How many midweek games did we have last season?

I managed 7 games last year , all midweek home and away apart from the Ipswich jamboree. Think Newcastle and Man City at home this season will be my only options.

Hartlepool away in the Paintpot trophy seems a long time ago now !

I guess its because 8 (?) out of the 20 teams are likely to be involved in European comps aswell, so maybe they avoid scheduling too many midweek games
