Swansea the better, more cohesive side, but couldn't score and didn't get the breaks. United, at first relatively disinterested, then sparked by the first goal into some nice play near the end. Cresswell's finishing ability was the difference to give us a flattering win.

01 Kenny - Terrific comeback game. A couple of super saves. Faultless handling. Didn't spend his time off learning how to kick the ball. 8/10
03 Naysmith (Seip 69) - The solid left back we've badly missed. 7/10
05 Morgan - Some odd dithering in the first half but improved later. 6/10
06 Nosworthy - Decent game. No bomb scare moments. 6/10
21 Bartley - Some great blocks, no mistakes, better positioning. Definitely not "rubbish". 7/10
04 Montgomery - An average Monty effort. Some good work, some clumsiness. 6/10
15 Harper - A few nice passes. Some arm waving. Then he vanished completely. 4/10
25 Little - A few great slo-mo dribbles and crosses. 7/10
28 Quinn (Yeates 33) - Injured early. N/A
17 Cresswell - Poor first half but lovely volleyed finish to effectively win the game. 7/10
37 Camara (Evans 64) - Not fit enough to threaten as he can do. 5/10

MoM - Kenny.

Nice sunny day. Blades win, Wendy lose. Nuff said.

:)

Cresswell's finish for the first goal was quality. Yeates made a big difference when he came on, looked a real threat & had the Swansea defence shitting themselves at times. Agree about Bartley, definitely not rubbish. Good atmosphere too!

Best game of the season for me. Enjoyed it from first to last. Interested to see how Swansea magical passing game would be. Answer, pretty ineffective. Atmosphere with Swansea fans good. Dancing fat girl at half time in JSS getting a standing ovation, fat fan getting chucked out, their physio lady sprinting across the pitch like a couple of sacks of spuds, news from Cardiff, won the game but it didnt really matter anyway. Can't wait for next season, like the daft sod I am. Anyone know the pre-season games..?

Forgot Monday...come on you Eagles!!!!

Bless her, she must get some abuse in the course of her duties...

Pretty rapid for a big'un though eh?

:)

The Kop was ringing out with 'You Fat Bastard'.

It must have been pretty demoralising for their fans to have what sounded like all three sides of the ground singing 'You're Not Going Up'.

I actually enjoyed the 2nd half today. It's been a while since I could say that.

Just to add - Evans was frickin useless when he came on

It's a worry isn't it? The only positive thing I can say about Evans is that it's impossible for a professional footballer to be so poor. Something's wrong.

I think today's chants of "that's why you're staying down" were spot on. They just couldn't stick the ball in the net. They had far more possession, far more attacking openings and at least as many chances on goal. Scoring goals has been their problem all season and nothing changed for them today, but credit to our defence, when blocks and tackles needed to be made, they were there. Paddy and Cresswell were our matchwinners today. Some good saves from Paddy who looked like he's never been away, and a sublime finish from Cresswell for his first goal - not the sort of chance you usually see go in.

Kenny 8 - very assured, made 3/4 good saves, good handling and not one mistake.
Nosworthy 7 - after looking superb at centre half recently he moved to right back where he's looked shaky at times, but today he was solid.
Morgan 7 - same old, same old.
Bartley 7 - just like at Hillsborough when he came on, he was very solid. One of his best games for us.
Naysmith 7 - I think today proved how much we've missed his experience, reliability and solidarity. Barely made a mistake. Hopefully he'll stay.
Little 6.5 - didn't see much of the ball but when he got it, as usual, used it well. I'll be sad to see him go.
Montgomery 6 - not one of his best days, missed too many tackles and interceptions.
Harper 5 - "I'm a good player", he says. No you're not. He spent the game in Pratley's shadow. I'll be glad to see him and his attitude move elsewhere. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Yeates 7.5 - in the second half he showed us all just how good he can be, single handedly created openings for us. He's clearly better on the left.
Cresswell 7.5 - a bit of a quiet first half but what an excellent finish that was, and the second goal was all his making as well - great bit of play.
Camara 6.5 - obviously he's not fully fit yet and wasn't firing on all cylinders.

Quinn - came off early on, not enough time on pitch to give him a mark.
Seip 6 - did nothing wrong.
Evans 6.5 - some good moments, some not so good. Good to see him back anyway.

He hit a good ball through to Little for the second but I agree he was generally poor. He had his customary scuffed pea-roller shot near the end too. Why does he persist with those?

The volley he had saved was a decent effort (superb play by Yeates to set him up) but for someone who supposedly has a really hard shot, he hasn't made a bad job of convincing us otherwise this season, as you say, he's had one of those pea-rollers in just about every game he's played.

I've doubted him since around his 10th game for us now and I love to be proven wrong about players but Ched's going to show something he hasn't done so far if he's going to do that.

That would have been GOTS is it had gone in, Yeates' approach play was superb, as you say.

Yeates was brilliant in the last 20 minutes. Left wing is his position. It was great to see a winger cutting inside so effectively, their full back didn't know what to do with him.

I thought it eventually turned into a decent game, despite it being 65 minutes before we had a shot of any description (and that was the first goal).

The OS is reporting a 'deserved' win, but it was pretty obvious that all the football came from Swansea. I don't know much about their team, only that Cotterill cost £600k (having cost us £2m) and that Kuqi would have demanded a fee. The rest were probably typical CCC players, little or no fee, not huge wages but the ability to control the ball, spot openings and generally operate as a team. Unlike us for vast parts of this season.

But i'm not a manager. I thought the stand-out player in the first half was Dyer and Van Der Gun had a most impressive match and both were substituted.

I thought Pratley was by far the best player on the pitch.
Nosworthy pissing himself with Kenny at the physio was highlight of the day ,and montys missus.

Watching him yesterday he looked like he had no confidence in his own ability. He showed some nice touches and I genuinely believe he has the talent to suceed at the club, he just needs a bit of belief. When the second went in he looked absolutely crestfallen that Cressy hadn't passed to him to the point where another player (didn't see who) had to put his arm round Evans shoulder and have a little word.

I'd love him to come back next season with confidence as I think he will come good...

So you put Kuqi above the likes of Pratley, Ashley Williams and Leon Brittain?!
