We should push the boat out and go go Mick. He is managing a club with no resources and no hope of doing anything in an increasingly competitive Championship. Once again they have fallen short and cannot complete with the moneybags clubs that are around them.

He is a Yorkshireman with passion who tells it like it is & who has the ability to get the best out of workmanlike players, of which we have a team full of!

He would understand out frustrations & with some backing from the board he could be man to see better times coming to BL.

He might be from Barnsley but he wouldn't be crackers enough to take over as manager here.

No respectable manager - especially one with a job in the division above - is going to come near us.

We're cursed. A poisoned chalice. We expect instant success and have an owner who is about to sack a manager for the seventh time within the last nine years.

Who's going to risk their reputation to come here?

Only option we have is going abroad.

Someone who wants to build a reputation would come here. I'm not talking about a complete amateur like Weir, but a manager on his way up. We need to pick up the next Sean Dyche.

Good manager but he would be in the same boat or predicament as Adkins. He would not touch us with a barge pole if he had any sense . We need a manager as mad cap as the club. Turkish delight.

Despite our current plight, many out of work managers would consider taking the managers job if it was available. The club is in a bit of a state (ie the mess was already here when I arrived), they will pay well, if it doesn't go to plan they will sack me - quids in.

This is not the mindset of the manager we need but people would apply and probably many names you wouldn't want as replacements.

Lets all play Fantasy Manager when there is a vacancy to fill.

Cardiff are thinking of moving Russell slade upstairs, done well with Cardiff this year, and worked on a shoestring while doing well at orient. If he don't fancy the change at Cardiff. Not quite a bladey bladey thing, even though he's been here before. He's a different kettle of fish now, than he was then. IMO.

Billy davies has the no nonsense attitude ala warnock /basset,i dont particularly like him but did well at derby.
If clueless nige goes we need sumbody with attitude and balls to tackle the mess head on without arty farty excuses

McCarthy would be great for us, as he would for most clubs, and could be a realistic possibility if we had true 'game changing' investment.

Sheffield United in League One with proper money to spend is a dream ticket. Build your team, build momentum, promoted in one season, sky's the limit...

Why would any half decent manager come here?

Especially from the league above.

You say he's managing a club with no resources but he'd be coming to a club where you're allowed to sign 2 players permanently all season.

He wouldn't come here with all the spineless twats we have in the squad.

WHF suggests no one decent would come here, he may care to explain Adkins taking the job then.
