Really sad to hear that. I kept in touch with Mick between 2005-2007, exchanging emails and sending him videos of Scandinavian players. He'd discuss a bit of tactics on occasions, but new players was obviously the focus. Only met him once, for tea at Shirecliffe the day after the team had celebrated promotion following the 2006 promotion. Naturally he was in a great mood and very friendly. Warnock obviously appreciated what he did. RIP Mick.

Sad news although at 75 older than many get, but also still young in todays western world. I seem to recall he came with Warnock when he first joined United and then Blacky followed later?

No Birch was scouted by Archie Clark and signed by John Harris, formed a formidable partnership with Mick Jones in 1964 , sold to Chelsea in 67 for £100k. about the same time they sold Mick Jones to Leeds for the same money.....

Mick Jones. made his debut against Man U 20 April1963 in a 1 - 1 away draw.
Last game 16 Sept 1967 sold to Leeds, Sept 67 to Aug 1975.....

Think you're mixing the two mick jones's up,the mick jones sold to leeds,in 67 is still alive and kicking m8,the warnock partner one is the one who has sadly passed rip.
