I just really miss him and his splay footed scurrying. Let's reignite the spirit of '03 and gerrim back.

Oh, and something about cover for Coutts. But mainly just because.

Crap TV programmes featuring former Blades?

"Wagging Tonge" - Sitcom based at Bramall Lane Secondary Modern School, following the exploits of young Michael Tonge as he decides to go home at lunch time and wag it, so he misses double Geography. Starring Michael Tonge as "Michael", Kevin McCabe as Headmaster McCabe, and Nick Montgomery as "School football team vice captain, and acting head of the lower sixth prefects, Monty"

Sorry, but Tonge was "mustard" that triple assault season. Think the post about bringing him back in 2017 was a bit "tonge in cheek" .........wasn't it ?

I just wanted to do it whilst he's still playing football. The faint tang of plausibility is required after all.

Sadly Barney put his foot down rather early. :(

Hopefully it was a joke and the OP has had a bit too much falling down water while reminiscing about past history, but deary me, Tongey made 292 appearances for us and scored 21 goals from midfield, since his departure he has played for several clubs culminating in another 155-ish appearances scoring a pitiful 9 goals plus he is another 8-9 years older, what would/could he offer the current team ? lack of pace ? another drain on the wage budget ? sorry but its a no from me

I loved Tongy and his role in the promotion and Premier season is often overlooked, people think he did noting after 2003.

Still remember the first time I saw him start against Milwall on the left, he absolutely ran them ragged, cutting in and scoring a Murphy-esque easque goal. Never quite understood why he stopped having the confidence to take people on like that

They doubled up on him as soon as he got the ball, came back to life in the promotion season after a stint on the bench. How did he fair in the PL season? I remember him scoring that rocket of a free kick against West ham but that's about it.

This forum has gone fucking mad . We want promotion not a charity or nursing home . I do hope you are just taking the piss old chap . If not , white van and straight jacket are in order .

Mainly just because .

Never really rated him at the time, other than the game against Millwall, where in the words of legendary goal machine Carl Asaba "He beat Millwall" and the following game against the trotters (how we lost that 2-0 I will never know) he went missing too often for my liking, he had talent but even as a youthful teenager at the time I always thought he was too scared about getting injured
