Was all over Chris Wilder on the CH5 highlights show late last night, the way he was talking about "Chris" and Gray's massive club Sunderland, you would have thought he was already the Makems manager.

Did anyone else get that feeling.

Nite is somemore food for the SP.

certainly got the feeling he may have jumped the gun. it's up to Kev and the Prince ultimately to show some 'ambishun' ..that'll annoy someone :D

When you look at the other names on the list, Wilder is the obvious top choice. Unsurprising if Gray has been stating that’s who he wants

Let's hope there's nothing in all these rumours. As someone has pointed out CW is under contract for 2 more years and the board can refuse to let him go anywhere if so minded.

It all seems a little bizarre to me. I mean fair play if it's a Premier League club or even an upper end Championship club with shed loads of money.... but Sunderland are an utter basket case and newly in League One. Even with new owners to there's still a massive mess to sort out... Why would he effectively go backwards

Theoretically, in this situation the manager would resign and join the other club. There would potentially be a claim for breach of contract against the manager and inducement to breach the contract against the club he's gone to. The matter would in all probability be settled out of court for a mutually acceptable sum of money, which would probably be the value of the mananger's remaining contract, plus a few extras. If a manager wants to go, it's a lot easier to agree compensation & let them.

So he can continue to wear red and white as our new owner turns us out in Saudi green and white, more akin to an 80's Williams F1 car.

Was saying similar on talksport last week as well

just watched it again on catch up i was half asleep last night. funny bit is when Gray seems to think it is a done deal and the lass says 'yeah i know why Sunderland would want Wilder but why would he want to go to Sunderland?'.. because they're a massive club apparently :D
massive in all respects.. massive debt. massive mess. massive shit hole.. :)

Sunderland?? i'm more worried about West Brom, Stoke.. Villa .. and even fucking Arsenal for that matter

if Chris has ambition , Sunderland just now is hardly moving forward for him
be like giving up going out with Holly Willoughby to start dating Edwina Currie
like i said in another thread.. i'm more worried about Arsenal rocking up.. i'm out on Edwina. i bet she's a right dirty little minx :D

He’s always gonna talk up Sunderland they’re his club & clearly wants Wilder as there manager , Yeh they’ve had crippling debts but Im told off one my best mates whosea mackem that Ellis Short has wrotethem off so any incoming manager will have cash to spend but how much .. ? Well that’s anyone’s guess & im sure if it is CW there after he’d want assurances or he’d be in same predicament buts leaue lower & still a big pile of shite to sort out as they’ve got a lot of high earning dead wood on long contracts that are gonna be more than happy to sit them out
I think Wilder is def using this as leverage whether there is be genuine interest from Sunderland or not , probably not for personal financial gain but I may be a bit naive there but more I terms of transfer backing.
I think most of our concern is the longer the impasse between the owners the more likely there is for an approach , my worry isn’t particularly around Sunderland , it’s as the merry go round is soon gonna gather pace I think they’ll be one or.two sackings in the championship plus poss Stoke & West Brom of the world on the look out too
I just wish someone would come in and buy both McCabe & the Prince out ,
I’ve always been surprised that we haven’t been subject of a bid before more so now than in a long time

Que sera ... and all that .. let’s see the next chapter of life as a Blade eh ..never plain sailing

i'm sure we probably have. but Kev won't sell.. if you want to buy an underpriced football team with massive potential then we're a no brainer if you consider that people have bought the likes of Bournemouth and Barnsley recently

And it's also worth pointing out Sunderland are in League One and CW has just proved himself at Championship level. Sunderland, the media and some of their fans seem to be forgetting that.

Your probably right SP and that makes it more frustrating

Why would anyone buy us a top half championship club averaging 28,000 fans and we still run at a £8m per year loss somehow, yeah you would have to have no brains to even think about it considering we don't own the stadium, the academy or any other infrastructure.

by that logic why would anyone want to buy Leeds? they don't own their ground either.. why would anyone buy us? yeah they only get 28k fans.. a famous club in a large European city with only two professional teams.. yeah i think i'll buy Barnsley or QPR instead..
